Hi All,

It looks like my adjustable pedals do not work.
When i push the button i can hear a click like a relay or the motor about to start, but nothing.

I tried to search but came up empty.

Any ideas?

Cheers

First I have read about this one.
check relay... would be the first thing I check

Relay would be either under the hood, or more likely in the panel to the left of the dashboard (you can see it when the driver door is open).

If you hear the click, then the switch is good, and the relay as well.  If you have a volt meter, check the voltage of the actual motor that moves the pedals.  If you don't get any voltage there when you hit the switch, then the motor may be bad.  If you do get voltage, it may just be stuck.

The reason could have set a code, even with no SES(service engine soon) light. Can you have it scanned and let us know if any codes come up?

I realize this is an old topic but I was just wondering if anybody has solved this problem?
I am now experiencing the exact same thing.
Any help would be great.

Well I went out and scanned it and came up with a P0650 code.  Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) Control Circuit
Not sure this has anything to do with the pedals.  I do have the plug to the adjusting motor disconnected right now.

This is the only code stored.

Do you have a test light or meter?

If you do...
Disconnect the EAP motor connector.
Connect a test lamp across the motor control circuit terminals in the harness connector.
Operate the EAP switch in both directions.
Does the test lamp illuminate when the switch is operated in both directions?

If it does then the motor is bad, if it does not then it could be the relay, switch or a wire.

I used to have a problem that sounds exactly the same but had to do with one of my driver seat controls. Actuating the one of the motors would result in only a faint click somewhere around the relay box (located underneath the steering wheel). I went through all of the relays but could not find anything bad, took it to a dealer and they found that one of the wires underneath the seat was shorted... so based on that it's possible that you got a short somewhere  ???

Does it click when you push the button both ways? If it does then it could be the eap relay.

This should help.

No it only clicks when trying to move forward.  The pedals are full forward so they wont go any further.  No click when trying to move back.
Thanks for the print.  I was hoping someone would have this.

Just curious if you were ever able to solve this? I just picked up a 2003 Z71 Avy and mine has the exact same issue, clicks when i try and move pedals towards me ( theyre already fully extended) and when I try and retract them nothing happens...

Also is the EAP Relay under the hood? I've found the fuse but not the relay. ???

Incase anyone comes across this in the future i solved the issue... it was not the relay ( that little bugger is a tough one to get at) it ended up being the purple control wire that goes between the 25 pin plug on the DDR module and the three pin plug just inside the cabin fuse panel. i replaced the wire and all works.

Did you find a break in the wire anywhere?  Did you solder it to the board or just splice in?

The gear in my avalanche was cracked therefore preventing the motor from turning it which would raise or lower the pedals they were stuck in the up position the motor worked fine the relay worked fine the fuse was fine but the motor would not turn it therefore this is my solution.. two screws to take out the motor and three tamper resistant torx screws to remove the housing which covers up the gear needed to turn and the pictures you'll see that the shaft will raise and lower the gas pedal and the gear will raise and lower the brake pedal good luck.
