Hands down the best intakes are AEM Brute Force and Volant with the Air Scoop.

I have installed both on 2 different AV's.

I think the AEM has a slightly better advantage because the power feels a lil more then Volant.

Will dyno shortly, I have the AEM on my AV with a Flowmaster 50 Street. Must say really good combo. and they will HEAR you from several blocks away.

Are you going to dyno with and without the AEM so that the numbers can be compared?
IMHO that would be one way to substantiate the AEM power increase/improvements ;)

Yes, would be interested to see before and after Dyno results. Scan in the Dyno printout and attach it as a .jpg

How much better is it than a K&N FIPK? I haven't dyno'd mine yet, but I'm quite happy with the kick it gives...

Not to mention I was getting 390-410 out of a tank of gas continuously over the past year, then with the filter I've gotten from 450-480.

It only adds up to 2mpg, but hey... it's worth it.

I just think it's funny that people say nothing will help save gas except for a lighter foot. I have every tank's mileage saved in my log book. It's good history to have, in case you ever have problems or need something to compare to...

Flapjack,,,

Do you have an oem maf? ... If so, is the screen intact?

what is IMHO and MAF? There are too many terms for some of us to figure out without a magic decoder ring. Thanks. I keep reading the posts and threads as I lean towards the Volant [closed box]. Is the Brute open like photo?

IMHO- In My Humble Opinion
MAF - Mass Air Flow

traded my 2002 av about 2 weeks ago for a new 2003 z71 fully loaded.

the list was 41,690.00

they gave me $25000 for my truck 2002 z71 with 19,857 miles on it. I made $3200 on my trade in cause my finance buy out was $21,800.

so the GMS Price was 34583.83...I got $3200.00 trade in + $3000 rebate +$1000 extra rebate for the month of april for GMS= $7200.00 in rebates- 34583.83 = 27383.83 + 751.00 tax for difference of trade in and new truck. All together the final cost for the truck was $28134.83. Talk about a #*&#*&#*& Deal!

Either way I just put the AEM in my truck and all I got to say is again WOW. No joke intake and it by far produces more air into the engine then any other intake out there PERIOD.

Dont settle for less. ;D
