Just wondering if anyone has the CIPA towing mirrors on their Av. If so, do you like 'em? I had them on my '97 Astro and I thought they worked pretty good. I was curious if there is a better add-on mirror that might be cheaper and still do the job (w/o vibrating too much). My old CIPA's didn't vibrate at all. These are $30.95 each from www.etrailer.com

Hurry with your responses, I'm going camping on the 26th!!!

I have the Cipa custom units and they work great. I just dont like the method they use to attach them. You shove a piece of plastic between the Cipa mirror and your mirror and turn a knob to squeeze an tighten it. It is hard to line it up and just seems like a dumb way to do it. I would rather have rubber straps or something easier. But once they are mounted they do work great.

I finally got my search to work and I see there has been a lot of talk about towing mirrors. I think I'll end up going with the CIPA's again.

A pair or not to pair, that is the question. Anyone just using an extended mirror for one side only? If so, what side.

I've use the CIPA Universal Mirrors (The kind with the knob) and I found them a pain to use. The rubber tips on the feet kept fallin off. Once on, they worked well, just hard to put on.

Now I use CIPA slip on mirrors. Much easier to put on. Only thing, they have a tendency to scratch the back of the mirror. To solve that, I put a piece of wide clear tape on the back of the Av mirror. Problem solved. Only use them several times a year and only for a week at a time.

I bought a pair..."free shipping" if over certain $, so spent a bit more and got two.
I love them. They are easy to put on/off.
Could be designed to be a bit wider.
They look great. Almost as if they are factory installed...except for the knob to tighten, but pretty nice in comparison to my old mirrors that strapped to the doors.

Thats my worry with the slip ons.  I have painted mirrors that came with the painted sails, etc.  And would prefer not to get something that can slide or scratch
