After rebuilding the transmission

I had my transmission rebuilt on my 2002 AV 1500 z71 4x4. After 2 weeks i finally got it back in the truck. now the truck wont shift. if put it in drive it stays in first. i can however shift into 1st, 2nd and 3rd using the shift selector. I also have another problem the speedometer is not working. I think these 2 problems are related. I have read some other stuff saying that the problem might be the VSS (vehicle speed sensor).

So dose anyone have any other ideas?
does anyone know where the VSS is located that it is on the transmission
or the transfer case because those are the only thing i touched during this project

Number 1, both wires are vss one is high the other low

i double checked my transfer case it looks like there are 2 of those sensors one is at about 10 o'clock the other is at 2
is that what you mean by  " one is high the other is low"?
 
I bought a 4l65 from Monster transmission, installed it, can't shift into 3rd or 4th. I can shift 1 &2, replaced speed sensors, no change. Did fix a ground issue with the harness behind passenger valve cover and after reading this thread wonder if there is another electrical problem. Never had this issue with old transmission, it had a slip but all gears worked. Appreciate any ideas?
 
What does MONSTER say?
I mean maybe this rebuilt/new tranny has issues out the box?

I took it back they dyno'd it twice said no issues. I'll have it back in the truck next week sometime and we'll see if it magically works.

Do you have an update on the transmission? I was wondering how it ends, lol, if you were able to fix the problem. The reason I'm so interested is my transmission is just about gone, I have 4 gears and reverse but 5th and 6th are completely gone. I was looking at Monster transmissions and you're the only person I know of who actually has one in the vehicle. Thanks for any feedback.

It magically worked when I got it back in, probably 200 miles on it and so far so good. You may also check out Jasper.
