In need of some advice. Just attempted to installing my new headlight housings which use H1 led bulbs. The low beams work great nice and bright, but as soon as i tried the high beams they just went out. Im guessing blew a fuse. But why? I just figured as long as i had the correct bulbs that fit the housing openings, then i have the correct bulbs. Since these are aftermarket housings, obviously they dont use the stock gm bulb bases such as H11 and 9005.
Any idea why the high beams are giving throuble?
Thanks!

Take the bulbs out and see if it blows a fuse. If it does then there’s a short in the wiring, if it doesn’t, then the bulb(s) are bad.

The bulbs arent bad, they are new H1 leds. I went from stock gm headlight housing with leds for both low and high beams and they were fine. Brand was Sealight and they have some kind of small block in the wire in the middle, maybe a resistor? So i bought an aftermarket housing that i wanted to put new leds in H1s. But i couldnt use the ones with my gm housing because they are H11 and 9005 bases. Sooo i got 4 leds that are H1s that fit the new housing. But, only the high beam keep blowing the 10amp little red fuses each time. There is a 10 fuse for the drivers side high beam and a 10 for the pass side high beam.

Some of those bulbs draw 50 watts each so about 8 amps off of the battery and 7.3 while engine is running. Should not blow the fuse unless something else is on that circuit as well.
