My dash light indicating the air bag lit up while I was driving today (No, I checked and the air bag had *not* deployed - I'm sure I would have noticed.) ?I called OnStar and they ran a remote diagnostic. ?They said that they could see an error code and that I should go immediately to a dealer - the air bag could go off. ?A Chevy dealer was nearby and OnStar had called ahead with the info. ?A tech hooked up an analyzer to my truck and could find no problems, nor any history of error codes. ?(The truck apparently keeps a history of any errors going back 25 start cycles but mine was empty.) He also disassembled the steering wheel and verified that the computer will record an error when the air bag is disconnected, as well as recording such in the log. ?He suggested that if the light comes on again to go to a dealer without turning the ignition off and have an analyzer hooked up while the light is on.

Anone else experience something similar?? ? ???

I had the same problem after I had my alram put in the AVA. Did you just put a alarm in? If not, did you just put a cell phone kit in? If you did either of the above, then you may have the antennae to close to the Onstar Transponder near the rear view mirror. This sends a bad signal to the cpu and makes the light come on. Check it out

Nope on either of those ??? I'm getting an alarm next week and will have them pay special attention to that issue though. Thanks for the input... ;)

lol...we need to really compile these actually..  i am sorry you have the same problem as i do with the sensor.
