Anyone install Alpine Type R Component 6 1/2" speakers???

Do they fit is it possible? I need help

I had 6 1/2" MB Quart Q Series installed in mine. What I had the installer do is take the factory tweeter mount (the little diamond shaped piece) and mount the Q tweeter to that. It looks factory that way, and leaves the tweeter protected by the grille. The 6 1/2"ers should go in with a minimum of trouble and I had my crossovers mounted on the backside of the door panel. The installer just used some double sided tape.

Those are very nice sounds components. I don't see why they wouldn't fit. The only problem I had or have seen on this board is having to space speakers out from the rear doors because the magnets were too deep and got in the way of the windows.

That's exactly what I am concerned about. On Crutchfield.com it says that they won't fit in the Av. I guess I would have too space them, they are about one inch bigger then the speakers I currently have installed. Here's another question anyone convert the rear doors to 6x9's it's just one of my crazy ideas. The Type R 6x9's have the same mounting depth as the 6 1/2"ers. It would just require some cutting.

If you do that I'd love to see it... Great Idea

I think you'll have a tough time cutting through the steel in that door frame to mount 6x9's.
IMO - Good coaxials or components with at least 65rms each would provide all the sound you need.

But hey, you could be the first with rear 6x9's (y)
