Alternator noise

I have a 03 1500 Northface edition. I have a whining noise coming through speakers
That changes with engine speed. It also occurs when key is on and engine is off.
Only happens with stereo on. Doesn't matter if its CD, or radio. I can get it to go away when disconnecting alternator snap connection. I tried replacing alternator with no change. I also tried disconnecting the rear audio control module with no change. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone.

Check your ground wires. One or more is likely corroded or snapped altogether. There is a strap on the driver's side that goes from the hood to the firewall. I recently had to replace mine and could be a likely culprit.

Thank you. I will try that this week. You know why they put that there?
Like @EXT4ME said, to suppress ground noise. Be careful when loosening the nut, the whole bolt mat want shear off. Hit it with multiple rounds of penetrating oil before loosening.

Mine sheared right off and I had to piggy back on a ground location next to it.

To help suppress under hood RF noise.
Repaired hood ground and cleaned some others. Found out it only comes out of lf speaker, also found that rf is not working at all. Gonna take door panels off and check there.
