AMBERS 101 - ATTENTION NEWBIES - EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT AMBERS

Well sad day for us guys with lower cladding they stopped making the 3157/4157 ast SilverStars.

So one of my regular DRL bulbs went out, so I finally got around to putting in my Ambers... should have done that a long time ago!

This might be a dumb question, but what's the difference between regular Ambers and the SilverStars Ambers?????

SilverStars are brighter, but they also will dechrome the light housing.

They look blue when they are off, when on they are really bright

Got it, thanks!  I guess I'm out of luck as far as getting those, but I'm good with sticking with the regulars...  (y)

They may have a set on ebay.

I have to admit I came to the Nationals with one burned out. Everyone noticed it. I had a normal set of ambers in the AV and put them in. Now I'm going back to the SilverStars

Ya I may see if I can find some... I'm not going to spend too much time looking though.  I figure if I never get them, I won't be as disappointed that I can't get them any more.  If I find some now, I'm going to be really upset when they run out and I have to go back to regulars...

Just my 2 cents...  :p

OH MY you are doing the Magazine and you just got Ambers this will be interesting.

My Av has only been in the garage since 5/10 of this year, so I'm starting with the small stuff in the 3 months I've had him.  But don't you worry about that, the new mag is gonna be AWESOME!

It's literally as easy as changing a light bulb.

My wife says it makes the truck look old....I say "eff you".

I think our wives would probably get along, just from hearing of yours and telling of mine it seems like they have a lot in common

I've been telling her I wanted ambers for a couple months now, and I always got the  "your lights work perfectly fine the way they are now"... lucky for me one of them burned out so I replaced them both with ambers yesterday.  Then I did the "All-On-High" mod for the lighting as well.  I felt kinda bad having her come out to operate the pedals so I could check it all out, being 90+ degrees out and her at 8.75 months pregnant.  She was a trooper and ended up thinking it looked cool, but I thought I was gonna get the  :beating:

So after being on vacation and not driving the avy for two weeks, I finally get time to drive it somewhere and one drl is burnt out (a reaction from us not taking her with us?)....  Ambers installed and THANKS to all the earlier threads on the '07 install.

Huge help guys! Had no idea what everyone was talking about but this forum covers everything.  Gonna go out and grab some bulbs tomorrow.  Any suggestions for the best brands since they evidently don't make the silverstars anymore?

Oh ya, its nice Eh?  I like at night when i unlock the truck, the ambers light up my whole street.

I didn't know it was legal in Canada.  Aren't our drl's our main headlights, or am I doing a blonde thing ... ??
