About the East Coast Regionals 2
If there was ever an Avalanche Club event that needed a sequel it was the East Coast Regionals. At a time before there were WBH Avalanches, 43 of us came together in Pigeon Forge, TN for one of the first regional events in club history.

The first East Coast Regionals remains my favorite Avalanche Club GTG that I've attended and with over 32,000 miles traveled to and from GTG's, that says a lot. Wiki and PlanetAV put together a great event and I hope to continue their exceptional legacy.

The pre-event festivities will begin on Thursday, just like they did in 2003. We'll start off with dinner at Fuddruckers, followed by a stop to a mini-golf/go-kart place. Friday we will lineup and take a cruise to Medieval Times (we went to Dixie Stampede in 2003). Most of the cruise will feature stunning views of the NYC skyline with the Empire State Building standing tall before us almost like it's leading our way. Saturday is still largely in the planning stages but we will end up back at the Regency House Hotel for a group dinner. Sunday we will have a group going offroading.

For our out of town guests, we will be doing two group tours into NYC on Thursday and Sunday. There is a train station very near our hotel that will take us right into the city. During the day on Friday we will also have a group going on the Ellis Island & Statue of Liberty cruise.

I would like for all of you to attend the East Coast Regionals 2. This is an event hosted by one of the remaining attendees from five years ago and I expect it to have many of the original attendees. I invite you to attend our event in my home-state and I hope this event will be every bit as enjoyable as memorable as the first East Coast Regional event back in 2003.

I have a number of surprises in store for this event and we're still finalizing the schedule so please keep an eye on the website and the many threads about this event on all of your favorite Avalanche Club forums.

Lets have some fun,

David

It is.. (y)  David has been very VERY VERY busy offsite...

Just a reminder that the ECR2 GTG is still a go and the only thing pending is for June to get here.

The East Coast Regional was one of the first big organized GTG's and it continues on with avdavid's hard work.  This time it's happening in a great location, especially for those of us who have never been there.  You can bet with avdavid's GTG experience, he knows how to put on a GREAT GTG!

Come on!  Let's get to adding some more people to the attendee list!

Have you seen it?  Has your AV seen it?  If not, isn't it about time?

hmm... we need to drive more members for this one and get it over the 43 mark for the first one.  seems almost like a must do since I was at the first one

Since my AV is on LI more than NC, I'll do my best to get to this one as long as work permits (y)

Good to see NC will be represented...  (y)

Then there's this...a good show, good food!  A very unique experience if you've not been there before, or even if you have.

Man, it always has to be around the busy part of the summer with me. Its cutting it close, but I should be able to make it, since it isnt that far.

Just curious here, but with less than 2 months to go before this GTG, the Itinerary isn't finished and some stuff hasn't been updated, I'm just wondering if this is still happening? Is David sick or out of comission for some reason? Just want to know that this is actually going to occur before I finalize my plans and commit to this.

-James.

I've been busy with wedding planning (getting married this month) that has been keeping me busy.

There have been some administrative things holding things up too. Hope to be able to make an update to this soon.

David

Well Congrats on the wedding, sorry to have bothered you then. Just update it when possible.

Not a bother. I know this is desperate need of an update.

Hopefully that will happen soon.
