NHTSA Looks Into GM Trucks
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) says it will investigate more than 384,000 GM SUVs and trucks for a defect in their wheels. Reuters reports the agency will study 384,608 Chevy Silverado/GMC Sierra and Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon vehicles because of two complaints of cracked steel wheels. The vehicle involved are 1999-2003 models; the wheels are six-bolt, 16x6.5-inch steel wheels. The cracks could lead to a leak in tire pressure. An investigation could lead to a full recall of the vehicles involved.
