Any 03s Arriving?

It is Mid August. Does anyone have any confirmation of dealers having 03 AVs? Some dealers tell me they will be here anytime. Others tell me it will be mid September. My question is:

When will 03s be on the lot ready for purchase? I need an AV so I can start my Mods. Simple ones at first of course, but I am sure to do other larger ones as I progress.

What are the best Mods I can do to increase MPG as I do a fair amount of HWY driving?

I will be gone for a little while.

I will have something interesting to share when I get back ;D

New Member to Posting but have been reading here for a couple of weeks now, preparing for my purchase. It might be a dumb question but, do you think it is smarter to spend the extra bucks on getting a 2003 and three. I have had an AV purchased 6 times and everytime the dealer lost hold of the truck i was supposed to get. He has one of the last factory AV 2002 on its way and with the 10 weeks I have been delayed as time and time again he couldn't deliver, so now I see the 2003's coming in even before my 2002 comes from the factory, (yes it has been built and it is a t transport) I could switch to a 2003, mind you zero percent financing doesn't apply and year end deals don't apply is it worth $4000 for a 2003 other then I guess resale?

Love the sight and am now addicted so see you all arround. Thanks for all the great posts

I would have thought that all of the 2002's were out on lots by now. He may be yanking your chain again. If it were me, I think I'd tell him that from all the delay's I want to go ahead and get a 2003 (with whatever you want on it) at his invoice price and if you qualify, go ahead and get 0% financing through the dealer. It sounds like the dealer is making you lose out on the 'valuable' incentives, make him make it right. It's also my understanding that the dealer may control what interest rate is given out.

I would be very unhappy with that dealer at this point. :7:
But, get the AV you need to make you happy. I'm happy with my 2002 and seeing all that extra stuff on the 2003's just doesn't do it for me. I would have waited if they'd changed the interior more.

I spoke to my salesman and he told me the 03s will arrive in September. He also invited me to come down for a drive.

Dealer: Champion Chevrolet, Manhattan Beach, CA

Hey thanks for the input and excuse my spelling in the last post. I was thinking the same thing I want a 2003 at 2002 price with incentives. I wrote the GM sales rep and he just avoids the issues, he is the one that said he would ship an 02 from the factory and have it to me in two weeks and that was a month ago.

The worst part of this, is that I am a fleet purchaser and have bought hundreds of Gm vehicles over the last 10 years and this is the treatment I get..

Just love the community sense of this board. Thanks again

Well guess what showed this afternoon. Just came in on the Autohauler. Guess I will be amongst you in a 2002.

My dealer has two on the lot, one is the new grey color, the other is white. Both are stripped down 1500's but at least I got to see the new cladding, and the grey color that I ordered. My order is due to arrive tomorrow or Monday. I will post pictures when I get it.

I just finished driving one ... I am writing my review ;D

I'm sure the 03's are rolling into lots across the country by now; I just wanted to report that one of the dealers in Orlando had a dozen of them as of 8/24. They weren't prepped, and (shocker) the sales dope that pounced on me didn't even know they were there.

I called around August 9th, sent a deposit in and I think the order actually went in around August 27th or so. My 2003 2500 4X4 AV arrived at the dealer on September 30th. I picked it up in FL and drove back to VA on October 4 (had to work and couldn't get off sooner). Got just about all options except leather seats and engine block heater. Paid $35,368.93 total, which included a $1500 rebate. Haven't seen a better price or even close for an AV with all the options that I got. Excellent dealership. First time dealing with them and was very satisfied.

My wife and I were in the market to purchase a used 02 Av, but the interest rate was at 6.9%. My wife is a wiz with numbers and told me we should look at a new '02 Av and it will be cheaper than the used one. So we dealed with 3 dealers to get the one we wanted. As I was test driving a 02 Av 2500, my wife was in the backseat making deals with two other dealers. I told the salesman he better listen to her conversion since someone was going to sell us an Av that day. They only had two '02 Av's on the lot, both strippers which was find with her, but not me. They had an '03 Burnt Orange Av on the showroom with tent that I really wanted..the salesman made the comment that they can't sell the orange ones because nobody wants them. I told the guy since you get sell it, then make me a heckuva deal and I'll take it home right now. Well he couldn't or didn't really try to make a deal as I was not about the pay $750 a month for it. This was in Houston...so my wife and I drove to Beaumont because they had 3 orange ones on the lot...one used, two new...The used one had 11K miles and was owned by a heavy smoker... :D: So we passed...the other one was a stripper with tan fabric...wife said no...the last one we looked at was a Z71, which I really liked and it had the leather/fabric sport interior...they had 9 '02's on the lot and 5 '03's on the lot. The '03's were $39K-$41K...no way.

Well, my wife wasn't real crazy about the orange as her first choice was red. I told her to get what she wanted. As I went down the line, a red one was parked at the very end. Went over, found to be a Z66 with sunroof and leather with all the other stuff on it that she wanted. We dealed and drove :love:home that day in the '02 Av at $31K, no money down and 0% financing. We were both happy and my payments didn't change much from the '99 Expedition we turned in on a lease. This time she wanted to buy...wasn't going to argue...give her what she wants. The kids love it and she doesn't look like the normal mother driving the kids to school.... ;D..now she informs me, she wants 20's...who's to argue? ;)
