Any Other Missouri Avalanchers Out There?

the 11th is cool for me. side pockets sounds cool too. plus you get one hour of free pool when you buy lunch. I only know of two side pockets. thats the one on noland road and the one in lee summit. I would need directions to any others.
later, toonman

I'm another STL Avalancher. Just found this site last week...pretty cool place!

Hi St.Louis AVers. In an effort to NOT plan an adhoc gtg ad nauseum like our KC brethern, I'm going to Montelle Winery Sunday 4/27, leaving Collinsville Travellodge parking lot at I-55 and US 157 at 1:00 p.m. If any of you want to go along or meet at say US 94 and I-64 at 2:00 p.m., or Montelle Winery when ever, email back or show up and we'll meet up. 496MARK

496MARK

Welcome to the group! Your more than welcome to join us if you'd like. STL is only a few hours away. Were gonna scarf down some greasy food, shot some pool, drink a cold one then head to the local out doors store to see some guns and stuffed critters on the wall. It aughta be a hoot. DAMN made myself think of Hooters again....You got one in St. Louis?

dday

That goes for all you STL guys/gals come on in.

Was that a SLAM? ?Or am I just nauseous! ? :D:

Try to get X number of people together with different lives, careers, and schedules. ?Then some people don't like certain kinds of atomspheres, throw that into the mix and see how easy it is. ?You CAN'T just bark orders and expect people to show up. ?

In this case, (just like our first meet) the group decided.

No matter how long it might take, it is better to make arrangements so that the ENTIRE group can feel comfortable, instead of just the few. ?If just the minority makes it's voice be heard, then you end up with resentment from the majority. ?It ends with the whole GTG and possible future meets a bust.

I'm NOT trying to pick a fight, or disrespect you in anyway. ?And I hope in the future there could be a ST. LOUIS/K.C. MEET HALF WAY GTG in MO. ?That would be really COOL!

Well put ditch! We have to go with what the majority of the group wants to do. No ones in put is more important than anyone elses. If I want to White Castle but toonman, Tdybr27 and ditch want Hardees well Hardess it is. The more places people want to GTG then the more GTGs were gonna have to have.

Hi back KC folks. My wisecrack about your planning efforts was nothing more than that. I appreciate the complexity or your effort, and have done some get togethers for other car/bike groups before too.
I am trying to get some of us StL AVers together, hopefully, some will try Augusta with me Sunday.
P.S. Thanks for your invite to KC!

I wish I could go to Augusta with you this Sunday, but my schedule is full. My wife works retail so almost every weekend she is busy selling Men?s Furnishings at the St. Louis Nordstrom. (Yes, a shameless plug for my wife. Say ?hi? if you are ever in the store. Her name is Jennifer.) I don?t think that a winery would be the most fun for my 2 year old daughter. Hopefully next time.

No harm no foul! Again welcome aboard. Maybe the STL and KC groups could one day meet in Columbia and have a big MO chapter meet. Think we could make this happen? If we started planning now maybe get it done before the end of summer? Any thoughts???

That would be perfect.

Hi again, Mo AVers, I too am sorry you aren't available Sunday, ucitysoccer. What does your wife's store sell and where is it? As I've mentioned, I work in the city, but live in IL, so many StL places are unfamiliar(I've never had a Ted Drewes'). Maybe some other time, and we could go somewhere your 2-year old would be less uncomfortable too.
dday, I teach a motorcycle rider course and have gone to Columbia for Instructor Updates, but have not seen much else there. Are there any interesting places? While being farther for both, what do you think about Lake of the Ozarks for an equidistant gtg? The eateries there are first rate and the drive seems more scenic. Just a thought. Either way, as long as you or we pick a date not already taken, I'd say we're in.

496MARK

I cannot speak for everyone but lake of the Ozarks sounds pretty good to me. As far as Columbia goes I have only been through there and thought it was about the half way point, so I do not know what they have. Personally I would rather go to the lake than Columbia. How about everybody else, any one wanna go to the lake??

dday

Ozarks would be good. I might even be able to talk my wife into joining if I can promise some shopping at the outlets.

First off, you gotta get a concrete some Friday night. It is more than just dessert. It is an event. Actually that would make a fun GTG. How many Avs could we get to meet at Ted Drewes' one evening?

Nordstrom is a nice department store with a big emphasis on customer service. One of their best known services is that they will take anything back. It is located at the rebuilt West County Mall at Manchester & I-270. If you want a wrinkle free shirt, check out their Smart Care brand. (Yes, another shameless plug for my wife, Jennifer.)

hey guys
1st, 496mark sorry but this sunday doesn't work for me either as my sisters wedding shower is then and i'm the man of honor, i know everyone laugh, but i must be there.

2nd, i'd be up for a missouri meet at the lake.

3rd, everyone at some point must have a ted drewes concrete. since i only live 3 blocks from there, i'd definetly be up for a gtg there.

4th, i would really like to see some more of the missouri and especially st.louis avs going to the national meet would be cool if we all could head up together.

Defintely, a meet at the lake.
Maybe a hookup midway, and then we all caravan to the Ozarks!

July? August? Sept?

I would be up for a meet at the lake. I wish I still had the boat now! We could all meet at Highway 70 and 54. Then drive in a group. You almost have to stay overnight, I wouldn't want to drink a few beers then drive back for nearly 3 hours.

I could also do the Ted Drewes thing one night, with the wife being pregnant, ice cream is at a premium. Let me know.

Hi MO AVers. ?I am hoping to get some ideas from you. ?I will be down there with friends for the second week in June. ?We are camping at the Yogi camp ground right next to the Six Flags park. ?We all ?have a season pass for Six Flags so we'll be going to the park a couple times, but what else is there to do? ?We are thinking about the zoo and maybe the Arch. ?Is there anything else that I can do with kids? ?I have a 6 month old and a 6 year old. ?My friends have a 3 year old and a 5 year old. ?The wives like crafty stuff and shopping, of course.

Looking for stuff that might not be so touristy and off the beaten path. Want to relax a little and not fight huge crowds all week. HA, I know, lots of luck with that right.

Hello fellow MO AVers, I am in S.W. MO and was turned onto this site a couple months ago by GOTMUD. This website is so cool with so much info it has taken me this long to find this post. You are all talking about a state get together, and I have another suggestion on a location, Branson, it has the lake, outlet malls, theme parks, and just north in Springfield you can go to Bass Pro and see dead stuffed animals on the walls. Anywhere tho sounds cool to me to flood the area with AV's.

He's got a point, BASS PRO the holy grail of the outdoorsman.

But it would be a much FARTHER drive for the STL. AV'ers

Halfway, seems to be the only fair way to have a GTG for the first time.

Hello fellow AVers,
I am a new young AV owner in KCK. I used to own a Firebird, and was a member of the largest F-body club in the USA. Have always loved the Avalanches Since they came out, but could never afford to buy one. Until I ran across this one in St Louis, picked it up for wholesale from Lou Fusz. I've had it for four weeks, have made two trips out to Manhattan, Ks to the Tuttle Creek ORV park. I plan on going out there again Memorial Sunday with a few guys here at work. I have alot of plans for accessories and modifications ranging from body lift, suspension kit, billet grille, grille guard, nerf bars,.... and much much more. Hope that there will be an event to where I can come and meet some of you. I'm actually going to the Ozarks this weekend with my F-body club for a Rally.

James

James,

Welcome to the club! Sorry to hear you cannot join us this weekend maybe next time. Congradulations on your new AV your gonna love it.
