Anyone in a position that they "regret" having done any particular "mod" to their AV? Lift? Tire or wheel combo? Performance mod?

Thanks all,

As Far as Mods are concerned I wish I had gone with the Platinum Series Westin Nerf Bars instead of the Signiture Series. I have the Black Powder coat and the Platinum's are black powder coat over Stainless Steel. The Signiture is just steel and will rot eventually.

I am also mad that my exhaust guy used Aluminized pipes instead of stainless. He claimed he used all the highest quality parts so I never questioned him before hand. I took that statement as he was going to use Stainless.

As far as the truck as a whole. Sometimes I wist I had gone with a different color. Green does not seem to be as versitile as lets say BLue and other colors are. I dont think my green truck would look good with the Volanca package installed. If I was convinced it would look as good as the blue I would have done this mod already. :-[

I regret not buying two Avs! One I would keep nice and purty. ;D The other would be a beater with all sorts of my own custom-made mods. I also wouldn't worry too much about a scratch or dent here or there. It would also be nice if the wife had her own Av for winter driving, since her car is basically a rear-drive sled in the snow.

I call this a Mod -- Thinking should have gone with the Cadillac
version. The few extra features look nicer everyday. The one
color body and cladding is becoming more appealing too.

I have no regrets other than not having enough money to do all the mods I want.

As far as the lift goes. I think I should have went with 35" tires initially but it is hard to say as having the extra clearence off road has been a big benefit.

My only regrets are:
1. I didn't buy it sooner (purchased 1-15-3). :E:
2. I didn't get OnStar. It seems kinda cool, & handy.
3. I didn't buy one for my wife. I sure would like to
drive mine! :7:
4. I wish I would have had the dealer install a 6" lift,
so it would be covered under both warranties.
5. I wish I didn't opt for that POS dealer installed alarm.

Overall, I will drive this great AV for two years, and trade it in on a new AV. :B:

I wish I didn't have to work mine so hard. It gets really dirty and I rack up a lot of miles.... This has been an awesome truck.

I have this luxury and it works very well. Would like to see less dings and scratches though... my cladding has really taken a beating. Just think, it would have been the paint.

Two mods that I should haved saved my money on. First the third break light avalanche sticker. The angle thats its at you can't see it or know what it says. I removed it. Second the red white and blue avalanche lettering on the cladding is peeling off. Not too much money wise but just a heads up.

I only wish I had removed the Step Bars before heading up to the North GA mountains for the first time.

We put all the mods on and the next weekend I got an invite to go test the 4x4 capabilities of this truck. The off-roading was fun but then taking off $700.00 worth of Chrome and repairing brackets was no fun :E:

I regret not getting a factory roof rack. I think it finishes the look of the av. Otherwise, no regrets. :)

I just want those steering wheel controls, and memory seating personalizing thing. I wonder how that 03 steering wheel radio controls kit is doing?......

same question as ^ ^ ^

I haven't modded too much, and no regrets with those few items so far, but I wish I had the convenience package. Everything else is cool.

except that I wish I wasn't one of the few to have to go through the 4X4 transfer case thing, but maybe that's over now :6:

The only regret I have is not installing my lift kit sooner.

The AV looks great. I hope to post some photos soon, I'm looking at some digital cameras and haven't made up my mind yet.

I really wish I had a sunroof. I may go the aftermarket route....

As much as I love my Black Av, SOM would have really been nice.

After rims and a system, the sunroof has jumped all the performance mods I was thinking of doing. I'm very happy with the performance right now, but I really, really want a sun roof. This past week was 5 straight days of no clouds and mid to high 70s and I had the windows down the whole week, but the hole in the roof stuck out as lacking!! I need to hurry up and graduate. Mod money in college comes from "other" places. What makes it worse, is there is a Sun roof store here in Tallahassee that advertises all over the World Series and ESPN; every time I see their commericial I think of how nice it would be to have a hole in my roof.

The Vara Ram Volocity stack was a waste of 50 bucks in my opinion. It did nothing for gas milage in my truck, and I didnt really notice a difference in power.

I realize they have a 30 day money back satisfaction guarantee. But I wanted to give there product another chance. So I tried it in my fathers 4.8L Express Van.
Average MPG Before Product 15.6
Average MPG After Product 14.2 :7: <--- average of 3 tanks of gas

Needless to say it is out of there and we are averaging 15.6 mpg again (y).

I think the only thing I would want now is 4.11 gear ratio, 3.73 just doesn't cut it with bigger tires

Who Knew I would find this club: and lift my AV, and put big tires & wheels, and exaust, and hppIII, and tinted windows, coustom sub box, and quickair3, JBA headers, platinum plugs & wires, and add Stealth winch bumper, then work on selling it (the bumper) so I can get a STAINLESS Stealth bumper, and on and on and on...

Later,

I regret not getting the XM radio option...

I think I would have gone with the GM chrome step bars instead of the aftermarket ones I bought.

"Me, too."

I got the sail panel windows and they're okay, but the next time I have to take them off, I'm leaving them off. The billet A/C knobs aren't doing anything for me either.

no regrets , I would like to have more options though, like the roof,xm radio, rear seat entertainmment for the kids, bose stereo system.
but all that is easily remidied by trading the truck in in a couple of years . it seems the truck really holds it's resale value pretty good.
