Anyone gone to 305/70 17 tires?

???I am looking into replacing my stock 265/70 17 tires and was wondering if 305/70 17's will fit w/out rubbing. should I go with the 285/70 17's or 305's? ???

I'd think that they wouldn't fit even with some cutting of the wheel wells. That's like a 12inch wide tire if my calculator is right and almost 34 inches tall. People rub 33s with 6 inch lifts. I'd say you would atleast need a couple turns on the torsen keys but you would still need a miracle.

The tread width is wider and the OD is bigger......

take 305/25.4*.7*2 + 17 is the theoretical OD = 33.8......

Stock is 31.6

305mm is the width versus stock 265mm this would be about 40mm which is 1.57 inches

Hevyw8,
Come on over to the 4x4 fourm. Do a search there and you'll find a few threads on this topic. 285/70 R17 is all you can do without some sort of lift. That's what I run, if you want to see what it looks like I can meet you to see my truck.

It's getting close to the time to start looking for some snow tires for the Av. I'm looking at the Pro-Comp Mud Terrains in 305/70-17 on my 8" American Racing wheels. Are they going to rub a lot?

There was a post on this just yesterday. The concensus was no since it is almost a 34" tire at 12" wide.

MErged since they are related so much
