I want to go up a little not the 6" RCD or Fabtech Lifts.. too high for my taste. I was looking at the Rancho 4" lift.

http://www.lildevilmotorsports.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=29_82_490_491&products_id=1166

Does anyone have this?? How does it ride on road and handel off road?? Can it be removed without any trouble?? I have a lease and need to return it back to stock in 5 years.

Thanks all... hopeing to soon join the ranks of the lifted.

P.S: Is there anyway to keep the rake look and still lift with just the Ford Keys?

Its just like the Fabtech or RCD maybe .5" or 1" lower. It is the same setup as them lifts too so it cant really be removed. Heres Jrythers Av with Rancho 4" and 295/75/16 BFG AT's

bonedog,

with any of the suspension lifts on the market, you have to slice and dice some undercarrage parts... and realistically, once lifted.... the truck will always be lifted... you can keep the cut off parts and have them welded back on, but it would end up costing more to get the truck back to stock then to lift it in the first place....

I wnt with the body lift as it can be returned to stock if I choose to do so later, for a couple hundred bucks.... would I perfer to have gone higher then 3"... yes..... but my AV maintains all practicallity, and no irreverable changes are made durring the installl...

The truck corners just like stock, and it looks 100X better, plus I can now run 33's... (as soon as my stock tires wear ou)

If you owned the truck... I would say go with your heart.... but since it is a lease.... go with the body lift and the ford keys.... (with these 2 mods you will end up with almost 5" of front end lift.... 3" of rear end lift....)

This is just my opinion on the matter... not that it is worth much....

Bone, I have the Rancho 4" lift on my Av. Check my website for pics. It rides like a truck if you ask me. I have the Rancho adjustable shocks (a must) so it is somewhat smooth on the highway. It was on the truck when I bought it so I can't compare it to the stock ride. I don't think it is simple to remove. Makes the Av look great. This is the way and Av is supposed to look, at least the Z71. My other truck is lowered so I'm not biased to lifted trucks.

King those pics look great... if I owned this I probably would just go with the lift..damn lease...

As far as the body lift.. does the frame show anywhere?? I like the look of the hidden frame all around. BTW I have the factory running boards if this makes a diffrence. I really want to go up but this is just a PITA with not being able to go back when I turn it back in.. as far as the F&*D Keys... I keep hearing that it will screw the suspention up later down the road and with me having this for another 5 years I don't feel like replaceing CVs and Bushings after my 3/36 runs out.

Bonedog, the instructions on the link you submitted states:
Installation: Easy installation (no upper control arm drop, no relay rod replacement) Bolt-on system with no welding required. Includes heavy-duty fasteners and hardware.

It seems that it is just a bolt on application. Check with a professional suspension shop that has installed this particular lift to be sure. I checked my lift and I see no signs of cutting or welding. The control arms are different so you will have to save your OEM arms. It looks like it can be done.

hmmmmmmmmm I gotta find a 4 wheel shop in NJ that has done AVs and is fimiliar with the Rancho Lift.

from the research I have done... ther is no welding.... HOWEVER there is cutting..... I did notice the other day in a SkyJacker Ad that thier lifts allow the truck to easily be returned to stock height.... lifts generally cut off one of the front dif mounting eyes... and this is the issue with returning it to stock....

The only problem is, to my knowledge they do not make a kit for the AV yet.... could be wrong, but back when I looked into it they didn't.......

As far as the frame showing... yeah on mine the frame shows, as I currently have not steps.... however it does not show any more frame then a chevy HD pickup.... also with the factory running boards... you would never notice the frame..... check out Alaska_Av's threads regarding his body lift... he installed it himself and he has the factory steps.... (he posted alot of pics)

I am actually not exactly a fan of body lifts... I prefer suspension lifts.... but I don't like doing things that permanitly modify a vehicle, and void my driveline warrenty. (plus it would not fit in my garage)

My Dealer is a stickler with warrenty.... but he has no issues with the body lift....

factory running boards hide the frame, those who want to know have to get on their knees and look....I've watched them LOL

Looks fine ;)

You would be able to do this by putting larger (taller) springs in the rear (2-3"), then put F*$d keys in front. I would adjust bolts after keys put in to give you 1.5 - 1.75" of lift up front. You then have 2-3" lift in back so you can maintain the "raked" look. Not going up by a full 2" with the keys will reduce any risk you may take with the keys.

Has anyone done this?? Pics?? Install notes??
I really want a lifted look without voiding warenty and permantly modifying the truck. Damn lease. I have done thread searches but i keep hearing about either full suspention lifts or just F%$D Keys not this idea.

I could have sworn somebody used larger rear springs to raise the rear but dang if I can find it now. Maybe somebody will remember something about this or who it was....

-edited to make sense :p

Damn.... there goes that idea :E: :E: Next idea..... ???

Thanks all from the ranks of the lifted... I know you like the air up there just gotta find a way for me to see it from your perspective.

Damn lease.....

Forever grounded

The only thing I noticed is that their price seemed a little high to me :cautious:

The do make a good product, a few of my friends have them on their trucks.
