Anyone know of a good Key Fob that can be programmed to control two vehicles at once (both Chevy if that makes a difference)? I hate having a big wad of keys in my pocket and two key fobs qualify as "big wad" in my book.

I'd definately want to keep the functionality of the current fobs if so.

Avalanche (Lock, Unlock, Panic)
Cavalier (Lock, Unlock, Trunk)

It would be interesting to have a separate button for opening the tailgate (once it has a power lock cylinder), but I'm under the impression that you'd need not only a separate button, but a separate/different receiver in the AV to make that work too. Please correct me if I'm wrong though.

It should be possible to program one of the vehicles to respond to the other vehicle's key fob. Here is a post that describes how to program the Av: Reprogramming Remote Keyless Entry

The only problem I see with this is when you're standing in your driveway, and you hit a button, both vehicles will respond at the same time. Could be confusing.

As for the tailgate lock, you would indeed need a different receiver in order to get it respond to an extra button. This receiver could be part of an aftermarket alarm or remote starter.

Interesting I was wonder the same thing, having our Av and Cadillac Catera I'm always swapping keys. Anyone else done this with success?

I am sure the is a aftermarket alarm system that can do this.

I tried to swap key fob's from my trans am (had the 3rd button for the hatch) to my Av and it did not work. I also tried to replace the whole alarm system from the trans am to the Av and they were totally different.

If they are alarm systems that will do this, then that means you'd have to install that same alarm system in both vehicles first, right?
