Anyone Thought About XM?

Ok I will bite. What is XM ?
 
I do not like the idea of paying a yearly subscription for radio when I can play what ever I like in CDs etc.

Guess I am cheap when it comes to that.
 
I have it and like it!!! I have the Pioneer that uses an FM modulator. It doesn't affect the Onstar!!!
 
ecparks I have a compaq IPAQ i want to hookup to the
speaker in my AV is it some out their to set that up. ???
 
On the subject of XM. The General is very, very, very committed to XM radio (hmmmm, wouldn't have anything to do with Hughes and satellites would it ;)) and I'm willing to bet you'll see it becoming standard issue in Delco stereo gear in 2003.

On the subject of hooking up the IPaq MP3 player the answer is yes. You need an FM modulator that will accept either 1/8" male stereo or stereo RCA connectors (or both). You can have Best Buy or Circuit City do the install. They basically hook a connector up to your radio antenna. You tune to a specific frequency. An adpater that will receive the RCA stereo or 1/8" stereo connector is set up between your MP3 player and the adapter. Now your MP3's on your IPaq play right through your stereo as an FM radio station.
 
I just talked to the car guy at my local tweeter store. He said someone was coming out with and adapter that would interface the XM module to the factory radio with a changer style interface..

I will post more when I see one..

otisdturner, I am a big IPAQ user. I have a stand that goes in my avalanche cup holder that supports my ipaq and cell phone. I also use the Travroute GPS for the Ipaq as well as GoAmerica CDPD wireless. So I am basically always connected to email while in my avalanche.
 
I listen to music on my ipaq all the time through a fm modulator. Works fine. I just had installed a led/tv tuner that has 3 additional a/v inputs. I may look for a dvd/mp3 player to use in one of the a/v inputs. Has anyone used a dvd/mp3 player combo?
 
I have ordered the Pioneer modulator. Where did you install it?? I figure it will go under the rear seat. Should have it next week.

I also use a fm modulator to listen to content from my Pocket PC in my Avalanche. Works great. ;D
