Good morning everyone. I'm stuck here in baltimore with nothing to do but eat seafood, drink cold beer and watch basketball - tough life. Of course there is that little detail; about having to go to work from 8 - 6, but apart from that life is good.

Anyway, I thought it would be a good time to finalize the plans for April's GTG. We spoke about doing a mod squad GTG in the afternoon and then being joined by the families later for a bar-b-que. We also have spoken in the past about taking a road trip to the crest and possibly doing a hike or something. I'm up for either. Let's put it up for vote? Mods? Cruise?

If mods - what mods?

If cruice - Sandia crest? South 14 somplace? Madrid for ice cream?

Baltimore? What are you doing there? Bring me back a Blue Crab. ;) I haven't been home since I joined up.

I was thinking of adding some full featured mirrors and maybe some lights behind the grill.

You know I'm up for anything cruise wise.

I'm thinking I'd be hard pressed to get blue crab from here to there without something starting to get smelly - but I might be wrong. I don't know enough about transporting crabs etc to know if it is possible. If you think it is I will inquire about doing so.

Potential mod list

Lights behind grill
Mirrors
rewire lights so hi/lows both on when his turned on http://www.chevyavalanchefanclub.com/cafcna/index.php?board=16;action=display;threadid=6002;start=msg86124#msg86124
Full time DLRs http://www.chevyavalanchefanclub.com/cafcna/index.php?board=116;action=display;threadid=5740
audio controls - I know Dave is also interested in this but it is a big expense
Flashing rear brake light http://www.webelectricproducts.com/products.htm
Back-Up Lights http://www.chevyavalanchefanclub.com/cafcna/index.php?board=116;action=display;threadid=23582

Potential Trip list

Anywhere (some would say that is a little broad)

Just a suggestion for you guys/gals.....

Sail light screws! Awesome addition and definitely an attention getter!

Have fun.

You sound like a salesman! :) I've already done the sail panel lights and I've got a lot of compliments on them.

I was kidding about the blue crab. Although a soft shell sandwich sounds very good......time to plan a trip to see some family.

Hey, How's your wife holding out NMAv?

I will go for the Mod-Squad BBQ this time. ;D

I want to do the Full Time DRLs and possibly the Sail Panel LEDs (y)

The wife is doing great, although she has reached the point of wanting to be done with the whole process.

BBQ, full-time DRLs and the possible Sail Panel LEDs sound good to me.

I cast my vote for the Crest, or at least Doc Long hiking/picnic area on the way to the Peak. I would also suggest Rib's on 14N for the BBQ. Just my .02, I'm looking forward to meeting you guys.

Anyone see the reverse aux lights mod where you drive 3" hole by the foot step on each side of the bumper. Looks way cool.

My wife says I have a thing about lights..... guess it could be worse.

Ubnvs,

It looks like you and I have the same basic Av, except I have the cladding. I need to put my amber DRLs on this weekend, so maybe you'll catch a glimpse of me around Base.

:E: :E: I could have sworn he had a WBH. ;D

1 with out

There's been some talk lately of trading in my Av for a Av 2500. I was going to wait till next year to see if they came out with a WBH version of it but I may just get a cladded one... :p

PS...We are heading up to the Ostero Canyon trails this weekend after I finish some "honey do" things. Are you still in Maryland?

I hope so. Where abouts do you work? Are you civilian or military?

I will be in MD until Sunday evening. Visiting some friends from law school. Should be a drunken weekend ...

You have convinced us to take a trip back home this summer. I'd like to show my wife where I grew up.

Let me know when you get back to town. I've got a few friends that would like to get into the trails.

A 2500? Hmmmmm, That would be cool! Just Do It! It will help tow the horses around.

Ubnvs,

I'm an evil contractor at AFOTEC. A microbiologist by trade.

Secret Squirrel type stuff. ;)

I work over on the 58th SOW side of base on the C-130s.

They only thing that's stopping me from a 2500 is the wonderful gas mileage it gets.

NMAv,
We had a great time over at Otero Canyon. I only bit it once on some rocks and tried to take out a pine tree. The tree won. Anyways, we need to plan a ride. There are hundreds of trials back in that area.

Haven't heard from Davester - probably skiing ... :3: :3:

UBNVS - what's your vote?

Finally got the pins removed from the hand yesterday. They pull them out without any type of pain killer - wans't hte funnest time I've had recently. Anyway, no lifting for 2 weeks and then I whould be 100 percent - which means I can get those lights working before we meet. I'm thinking I might have to put a bigger alternator on as well.

Md was good. Coming home to the family was great. It was very cool having the little one run up yelling "Daddy daddy". Ah dads and their daughters. Yes I know she can have the Av if she asks ...

Biking sounds good. I'm headed out to Arkansas this thursday to visit the out-laws. Will be home Sunday - Saturday if they really pi$$ me off. Maybe we can go biking the following weekend,

A MOD GTG sounds great. I haven't ordered my mirrors yet, so I guess I should get on that.

If anyone is wanting to do the Sail Panel Lights, I'd start shopping around for the LEDs now. Autozone tends to stock only a few of them.

\how's 4/24 @ 2:00 ish, then the spouses/kids can catch up around 5:30? Really informal - Jill is on mandatory bedrest as she went into premature labor last week. ie. I've been in charge of cooking, cleaning etc and well, I do a much better job of cleaning the truck then the house. :)

Bar-b-que. Burgers and dogs, ice cream for desert? Real simple.

Any particular flavors of beer?
