I am trying to find a place to stay I am camping but I want to stay where most AV owners will be ;)

Lance, We will probably be camping. We will probably drag our camp trailer. I am not sure where we will be staying yet, but I would like to stay close to the activities and with some fellow club members.

I will be towing my Coleman Niagra up to the event. When everyone decides on a campground, I will stay there. KOA's are usually ok by me. Good Sam club and all.

I am going to make this a three week trip and swing by Yellowstone and Teton on the way back.

I am most likely staying at the hotel, but am definately looking to get out for a night under the stars once/twice. Anyone find a good spot, please let me know ;D

There is a late night guided star gazing tour on the cruise - I believe it is on Wednesday night in Badlands National Park. South Dakota as you get away from the I-90 corridor and into Badlands has an incredible night sky.

Yes MrBill will be in attendance.

I am staying at the Rapid City KOA.

I am towing my 32' travel trailer 1480 miles to this event.

See you all their. KOA is 3 miles from the hotel.

I cannot wait.

We will be camping at the KOA in Rapid City flood the campground with Avs. >:D All day with Avs and sleep with Avs for five days could things get any better??? YES THEY HAVE five days with CAFCNA folks CAN'T GET BETTER THAN THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just made reservations at the Rapid City KOA I also made notice that I will be with the gang from the CAFCNA and would like to be placed them. I think if we all do that we could all be together.

Don't know which campground but if I don't destroy the trailer on the way down, we will be camping >:D

Destroy sounds so nice. Dragged to a brutal death , is more descriptive and likely :2:

I grew quite fond of trips to the KOA for showers when I was in a 3 week field school outside Vernal, UT. I don't know if I can swing the hotel rate, unless share between 3 others. Will probably be looking at the KOA! I don't have a trailer, but I have a 2 room tent >:D

I think I am going to stay at the KOA because it looks like many other people will be staying there also I am just going to be camping in my AV's Tent (y)

IMHO - I wouldn't stay there if I was tent camping. The pictures they show make it look VERY open and South Dakota can get very hot. Just my two cents...

ahh, but we'll be in nice, air-conditioned AVs during the daylight hours ;D

can't be any worst than Utah in July...

I'm not sure where I'll be staying. I need to find the cheapest deal I can for a room/cabin, since i don't have any camping equipment other then sleeping bags. The KOA's cabins require those, but I emailed the folks at lakeparkcampground and they said their studios include everything including bathrooms/linens for the $65. I have done a little other research so far and had the timeinnmotel give a rate of $50. Anyone else find anything cheaper.

Have you considered sharing a room at the Ramkota? Between 2 people that becomes $50 a night and then you're at the conference center (and I'm off the hook for one more room in our block)

Chief seems to be twisting arms... can you setup a room-sharing thread? I guess I can stay in the hotel if I can find some others to split the room 4 ways with... an extra $5 a night over the KOA and tent camping. I have to keep the following week in my budgeting plans as well. Oh, does the hotel allow dogs (35 lbs)?

Have reserved a 2 room cabin @ the KOA, also reserving room @ the Hotel. We have some friends that may come with & then we'll be at the KOA, if they bail we'll be at the hotel. July seems far away! Also as pertains to the heat and sun, be sure to look us up at either location as we have an air conditioned Haulmark carhauler for the atvs that converts into a camper/shelter/screen room/beer hall/cocktail lounge/meeting room.

CAMPERS! Some info on the Rapid City KOA. The manager's name is Josh, and he was unaware of our event, so I filled him in. Mdz66 and myself are site 73 and 74. They are water & electric sites, $34 a night. I don't know if any other AVers have reservations there yet, because I don't know last names. Mine is 'Debnar'at site 74. The reservation # again is 1-800-562-8504. Make sure you get Rapid City reservations, because the number is for multiple KOAs.
