Are Z71's hard to find?

Started looking through used listings on the internet. Don't seem to be able to find any with the Z71 package. Is it unreasonable to expect to find one?

A quick search on Autotrader.com showed several.

All of the Avalanches that showed up in the search for the term Z-71 were first generation (2002-2006) trucks and none were second gen trucks.

However, when searching for second gen (2007-2013) 4x4 trucks, there were several hits for that term.

It looks like there were no second gen 4x4 trucks listed as Z-71, but rather they were listed by LS, LT and LTZ models.

Now to be clear all first gen Z-71 trucks were 4WD, but not all first gen 4WD were Z-71.

And not all second gen 4WD trucks were Z-71 and there were even a select few second gen Z-71 trucks that were 2WD.

Now, how the Z-71 was distributed across the LS, LT and LTZ models is another question.

I am assuming you are wanting a second gen 4WD Z-71 truck.

If that is true, perhaps a search for simply a 2007-2013 4WD Avalanche might produce a number of trucks that you can dive deeper into to find one that is a Z-71.

Good luck with your search.

Listing accuracy is more about the person entering the listing and knowing what they have. Best way to check options on an AV is to ask for a photo of the inside glovebox sticker showing the RPO codes the AV started out with and looking for the Z71 number.
Above poster is correct in that first gen AVs could have 4x4 but not Z71 option. Then by the time second gen AVs came out the Z71 was more confusing in that it was available on 2wd as well as 4wd AVs.
Then you can add in time and previous owners into modifying their AVs in that they may have removed the large fender decals saying Z71 and either left it bare or put on a small chrome z71 emblem on the C pillar.
I know when I bought my 2008 AV the only way to buy a Z71 was to get a model called the LT3 and it was offered on that one only not LS, LT1,LT2, or LTZ.
For what those RPO codes mean look in older threads that have them explained.
