Assist Steps Vs. Nerf Bars

Just wondering-----If you had had the choice of the factory installed assist steps, or the gray nerf bars, which would you choose

I wanted the Black nerf bars on my AV but it had assist steps when I bought it. I didnt think I would like the Assist steps but after almost 2 months they have grown on me and I find them very useful. Im gonna keep them on, all I need now are mud flaps to keep the dirt off the front of steps!

I had the nerf bars installed and like them. They seem to provide better footing for getting into the Av. My 80 year old mother-in-law likes themn and finds them easy to use.

Personally...I like the nurf bars.... but grey???? ???....the color of the bar should depend on the color of your AV I have a pewter Av and the black looks good...I like the contrast of the pewter and black...with white I would go with chrome bars( I had a white silverado which I traded in for the AV which had several chrome mods)
I must say that I haven't seen grey nurf bars. But like with all mods that you make....make them 'cause it's what YOU like.. ;D

keep on AV N' :B:

I got the chrome nerf bars. I love them to death and I dislike the look of the stock assists. SO it works out both ways.

well, I have had both the assist steps and the bars - the steps for the first 1000 miles, and the bars for the next 9000 mile. As for pure function as a step, the assist steps are the best choice by far. I had gotten the GM bar up front, which is chrome tube, so I had to complete the look witht he chrome GM nerf bars. Plus I off road, and the bars are tucked in more than the steps. As for looks, that is subjective of course, but the steps looked like a big family 'Burban kind of thing. The bars, by the way, give you a very tight area to step on - not nearly as functional as the steps.
