I have a 2011 Avalanche. Recently my gauge lights went out I found a blown fuse. When putting in a new fuse it blew again with out the key even on. I then left the fuse out completely to my suprise the gauge lights came back on with no fuse. The they went of agin. I put a larger fuse in just to get home from work to find out that my gauges are drawing power from my curtesy lights. I removed the fuse for the courtesy lights which solved the gauge light problem but now I noticed that the out side white lights under my mirrors are flickering. Help.

Get down under the dash on the driver's side with a flashlight, and have a look at the wiring harnesses.
There is a high probability of finding a rat's nest of wiring consisting of twist-n-tapes, Scotch-Loks, and inline fuse holders - connected to crappy aftermarket accessories which last worked correctly perhaps never. Or maybe 10 years ago. None of which will be properly connected. Cut out all that crap and toss in the trash, and return the wiring to stock. Problem solved! >:D

Look under fuse panel under hood...somtimes mice chew wires under there.
