I have sent several email's to the NC chapter coordinator and have not heard back from him. So I am taking it upon myself to locate other fellow AV owners .....

I am located in Raleigh, NC and would like to form some type of meet... Who's interested?

Hey Firestic,

I am in Holly Springs, have also tried to contact the NC Chapter coordinator....no reply either

Lets get something organized :)

Hey Wiki,
Maybe we can make a Chapter for the Carolina's, utilizing both the North and the South. At least we know you will respond when called upon ;D

Sounds like we're off to a good start! I've never had any experience with car clubs or organizing a meet for that matter, but I know there are more AV owners out here in NC/SC that want a meet...

I put 2 CAFNA brochures on other AV's for the first time yesterday!

So those that have been to meets before, could you kinda clue me into what goes on, what types of meeting places, how long do meets last, and so on...?

It sounds like you all would like to get organized and could use a little help. We (WV Chapter) have a cruise planned for Feb 1st going to Winterplace Resort at Flat Top, WV and will be staying at Pipestem State Park on Saturday night. This is just about a 3 hour drive for most of you. We would really like for any or all of you to join us. See the thread... Winterplace Ski Resort...February 1st Contact me by E-Mail or PM if you want anymore info.

I'm right outside of Charlotte. I would possibly consider local stuff will advanced notice. busy schedule with work, kids, wife, house.

If every NC. AVers want to join us in Pigeon Forge,TN. Jan.25 10:00 AM, we would enjoy meeting you. :B:

Lets see if we can get something organized for Feb somewhere between Raleigh and Charlotte.....seems that most members that have posted are in one or the other or in between....

Anyone in the RDU area that wants to get together just let me know!

Are any of the area AV's going to the national meet? I am planning on making the trip if anyone wants to caravan out.

just an update for the PF, TN mini cruise...

We are going on the 25th JAN...for those who can attend with me and Tinman, hope to see you there.

Can't wait to meet up with ya'll.

Don't overlook the Winterplace GTG in WV on Feb 1st. It is only about 2 1/2 to 3 hours from Charlotte.

I'm in the Piedmont area, Summerfield actually. For those who don't know, that is right against the northwest section of Greensboro. I would be interested as long as I am not travelling with work....

What would everyone think about a trip out to the Outter Banks this spring? I am heading down there this weekend to check on some property, will be at the northern end (N.Corrola Light area) but there are some places that you can get out and drive on the beach.......maybe April/May time frame?

Cookout on/at the beach, Wright Bros. national park, light house tour? Thoughts?

I just got back from down at the Outter Banks last night. It was a BLAST >:D I have some pics/video of the driving on the beach and some of the other cool places down there. Wound up being ~4hrs down from southern Raleigh and of course not many folks on the road ;) There are some fairly inexpensive places to get a room in the off season but just about everything there was closed down. I think April-May would be ideal for getting a trip together. Most of the light houses are opening back up then, the Wright Bros. place will be a little warmer to walk around/climb. Also its still off season then, so cheaper prices. (y)

The area at the northern end of US 12, above Corolla has about 20 or so miles of shore line to drive up for free/no permits. There are several communities in that area that you can explore if you want....I have found that some have some fairly big water puddles to cross (but thats fun too ;D) and then farther south on US12 there are some other places to get out on the beach for free/no permits. Other areas require permits/fees from the individual towns.

If anyone wants to head down there, I would suggest that Nags Head be the "base of operations" since its fairly centrally located. Carova beach (norther end) is about 20-30mins north while Hatteras is about an hour south. Also, Nags Head has the most hotels of the area.

I'll post pics and links to vid clips after I get them edited down and usable.

Let me know who's interested in getting a trip together and I'll check into things.
