Just wanted to share my audio system layout with everyone and invite others to do so as well. (y)

I am praying that upon the completion of installing the stiffening capacitors I will be completely finished with my system  ?I'll be posting pics of the capacitors later this week.

?

Very Nice Job! Thanks for sharing! I think this will be super useful for those comtemplating doing their own install.

Q for you: are you also running 4 gauge from the dis. block to the amps? and if you are, I assume you are running 4 gauge for all your grounds?

BTW, you are not finished just yet! ;D You need to get yourself a handfree for your cell integrated with this system! <that's my next project after the sub>

Darn :6: I figured it would be something cool that an Apple could do. That's why they've survived against giants like IBM & Microsoft.

I have photoshop though, so I don't think it will be to tough :cautious:

You could easily do this on a PC as well. Microsoft has a product called "Visio" that they purchased a year or so ago. This product is designed to do stuff like this.

Not bashing Apple since I also have a G4 at home but thought I would let you know that you could create something like this on your PC. ;D

Though I'm a Mac user too

And really don't want to suggest anything MS wise . . . .
if you had to you could do it in MS Powerpoint . Wouldn't be much work at all and most everyone has it.

Thanks carrerarod.
Do you have Visio?
If so, is it pretty easy to do stuff like this? ?
How much $ did it run ya?

Wow! too many MAC users on this board (let the flames begin!) ;D

Check this link out: http://www.microsoft.com/office/visio/

You can get a 30-day free trial. Might give you an idea what it can do. I think they plan on bundling it with MS Office.

1 is too many Macintrash users >:D >:D

Long live the PC!!! (y)

BTW Most EXCELLENT diagram of your hookup (y)

I just use AUTOCAD......... >:D

Heck I just drew up some clubhouse plans for my boy!

Fryinhigh... I know you are intimidated by the innovation and elegance of the Mac, but you don't have to resort to name calling.

If you are happy with your beige boring box :2: I am totally cool with that. I like living in a beautiful and stable OS X environment. (y)

Unfortunately for your OS .X software is not stable compared to my Solaris(UNIX) software running on my $20K Sun E250 Enterprise server :p and.... If MAC was so great everyone would have one and much more software would actually be written for it. It's a good box for those who don't like to Mod, or prefer their computers simple >:D

And there is nothing plain about my box, if it wasn't for where I had to mount it you would see my NEON lights shining thourgh the clear plexiglass panel of the ALUMINUM case. Ahh but then when we move to the new home it will be time to build a new one, with more lights, fans, and a custom painted case.

>:D

Actually everyone does have a MAC, not all of them are mature enough to admit it though ;D

Actually you can probably mod OS X as much as "Windoze". Just a heck of alot more complicated and requires unix knowledge.

Just open up a terminal window under OS X and you will feel right at home flynhigh! ;)

Uh, getting back on track here...
Rockn'Z66, when I couple your schematic of your system layout along with the install pics link below your signature, I really do get a pretty clear idea of what's involved in setting up a great system like yours!!
Quite an undertaking, plus some (I presume) rather large capital outlay ;).
Am I the only one who, after seeing everyone's great ideas on modifications (Performance, sound/video, appearance) feels that they HAVE TO DO THEM ALL!! >:D

Gotta chime in here with a shameless POST. This'll be post 100 for me: I've gotta lose the "regular" moniker and move on to the next level...

My favorite e-mail sig that I've seen describes me perfectly: I have to use a PC at work, but I get to use a Mac at home!

When I started working for Intel, I was afraid they would find out about my computers at home: five Macs, and a lonely PC with an AMD processor!

-- SS

PS: My second favorite sig was: "SCSI is not black magic. There are fundamental technical reasons why it is necessary to periodically sacrifice a goat to your SCSI chain."

Sweet system, I just put mine in the truck today. Infinity Kappa separates in the doors, Pioneer DEH P77 for a reciever. Tomorrow we are building the box for the JL 8w3's to stick under the seat. As soon as it is completed, I will be sure to post pics.

Sweet! I also have the P77. Did you do components in the rear doors also or coaxial? What kinda amp you using? You building your sub box yourself?

For all those out there that have mounted subs & amps under the rear bench, which side did you choose for each? (ie. amp on pasenger side floor, sub on drivers side, or mounted the amp on bottom of actual bench seat so it flips up when "switched".
Just trying to figure out how to lay mine out. Right now I'm just planning to use 1 amp and 1 ten. with the possibility of adding another amp in the future ;D

Thanks

New System

Here's a quick rundown of my new system. ?

Pioneer DEH-P8400MP:MP3, CD-R, CD-RW, WMA (windows media applications- I'm gonna like this feature)

2 pair -Pioneer TS-D160R 6.5's: Just out from Pioneer, really cool, sound awesome.

1 - Lanzar Vibe 430: ?175x4 RMS @ 2ohm. I have always liked Lanzar amps. ?I've never had any problems, and they are powerfull ?

2 - Kicker Competition 10in woofers: I LOVE KICKER SUBS! ?I haven't gotten the boxes for these yet. ?I'm hoping to find or make 2 boxes with a volume of 1 cubic ft to fit under each side of the bench, with the amp in the middle.
