Call me a GIRL...but when I mentioned charging $5 ot $10 per each AV for this weekend to cover costs of Trophies, prizes, banners and the left over to go to future GTGs, I was told OH WE DO NOT EVER CHARGE...
M-m-m-m-h-h-h-m-m-m
Like I was a crazy nut. You can't go ANYWHERE for $10 anymore....but "the goofy girl doesn't know anything"
If we all paid $10 (per AV, not per person) we'd have plenty for insidentals that came up, like PFF's shipping...we could make up "LOCAL ITEMS" bags to raffle, like TNAV, but where ever we are hosting the event, put in "local flavors" Peach Salsa, GA Wine, a MOD bought here...etc....
THEN we could even donate some of the money to the RED CROSS for the poor hurricane victims....
BUT I GUESS LABEL GIRL IS BANISHED TO NOT THINKING, JUST TROLLING AWAY ON HER LABELS
LOL
Alright "GIRL",
Our intent is to make these GTG's a no-cost retreat from the real world. We have numerous members that travel quite a distance to come to these. Gas isn't what it used to be. Plus Hotels, food, fun, drink
, etc...
$10 is not much to ask, I agree. But my goal is to get corporate sponsors (Chevy, Hooters, Magnuson, etc...) to foot these incidental costs. And, to their credit, they have been very good to date. But as our membership and attendance grows, so will our hard and soft costs. Thus, increased sponsorship costs (or number of sponsors).
We have asked for each person wishing to participate in the raffle (STI) to buy (don't remember the cost ($5??)) for raffle tickets, and we MIGHT do that again. It will be discussed by the regional coordinators on Friday night.
If we do sell raffle tickets, I will only agree to do so if everybody (kids included) will get the first one free. I want to involve everyone. Period.
I might even pick up some kids toys, and have a separate raffle for them (just thinking outloud).
I am o.k. with the $10 GTG fee, but you now would have to go back and inform everyone of that fee (prior to Friday). No surprises at the GTG. Hard to do now, since not everyone is following these thread (ask Zuk how many phone numbers he has collected). These things need to be stated up front on the very first thread posted regarding details of the event.
Thoughts?
