Aug 21st Hotlanta GTG Raffle Prizes..

Rob
I had posted on the coordinator's thread, here are the raffle prizes I will be bringing:

"Since Memphis is known for its BBQ, I will be bringing bottles of BBQ sauce and rub from 2 of Memphis's most famous BBQ places: Corky's and the Rendezvous"

I have a set of Hot-Rod Avalanche Stickers created by MaddMax Car Art. These are small decals, the image is about 3"x5". I have the following colors available: Yellow, Green, White, Black, Blue, Orange, Gray, Red. These should be raffled individually.

Their website is: www.1maddmax.com
Here's a sample of thier artwork.
MD132avalanche.jpg

MaddMax also offers this their artwork on T-Shirts (they are in the process of getting a new printer) and Print Artwork. These decals are something new for them and they are able to be stuck multiple times.

Got you both.
Sorry TNAV. I saw your post, but forgot about it :2:
I only looked in the Raffle thread.

Please let me know if there are any more donations/sponsors.
Thanks

Rob

There are a few more items coming in.. I will update later today..

Call me a GIRL...but when I mentioned charging $5 ot $10 per each AV for this weekend to cover costs of Trophies, prizes, banners and the left over to go to future GTGs, I was told OH WE DO NOT EVER CHARGE... :3:

M-m-m-m-h-h-h-m-m-m :-X

Like I was a crazy nut. You can't go ANYWHERE for $10 anymore....but "the goofy girl doesn't know anything" :6:

If we all paid $10 (per AV, not per person) we'd have plenty for insidentals that came up, like PFF's shipping...we could make up "LOCAL ITEMS" bags to raffle, like TNAV, but where ever we are hosting the event, put in "local flavors" Peach Salsa, GA Wine, a MOD bought here...etc....

THEN we could even donate some of the money to the RED CROSS for the poor hurricane victims....

BUT I GUESS LABEL GIRL IS BANISHED TO NOT THINKING, JUST TROLLING AWAY ON HER LABELS :( :(

LOL

Sherr, trust me taking $$ leads to problems around here, that nobody wants to see. As far as donations to a charity, that is fine with me...that and the towstrap ;)

O: I had no idea   Well that sux....so what you are telling me is that Women really do act more civilized than the Boyz??

WELLLLL....we already knew that.

My Social Club had 500 members and I did it as a hobby. People didn't mind me keeping money. I had a "panel" of 3 others, and would show them my info/dollars in the Kitty....

but I guess I just SEEM more trustworthy since I was dealing w/ about 3BILLION $$$$ a year at my job.

I guess I just have an honest face.

Alright "GIRL", ;) :p
Our intent is to make these GTG's a no-cost retreat from the real world. We have numerous members that travel quite a distance to come to these. Gas isn't what it used to be. Plus Hotels, food, fun, drink >:D , etc...
$10 is not much to ask, I agree. But my goal is to get corporate sponsors (Chevy, Hooters, Magnuson, etc...) to foot these incidental costs. And, to their credit, they have been very good to date. But as our membership and attendance grows, so will our hard and soft costs. Thus, increased sponsorship costs (or number of sponsors).
We have asked for each person wishing to participate in the raffle (STI) to buy (don't remember the cost ($5??)) for raffle tickets, and we MIGHT do that again. It will be discussed by the regional coordinators on Friday night.
If we do sell raffle tickets, I will only agree to do so if everybody (kids included) will get the first one free. I want to involve everyone. Period.
I might even pick up some kids toys, and have a separate raffle for them (just thinking outloud).

I am o.k. with the $10 GTG fee, but you now would have to go back and inform everyone of that fee (prior to Friday). No surprises at the GTG. Hard to do now, since not everyone is following these thread (ask Zuk how many phone numbers he has collected). These things need to be stated up front on the very first thread posted regarding details of the event.
Thoughts?

I don't think a GTG fee is a good idea Lady Sherr... Just because of what it cost to get to most of the GTG. Now a fee would ok if we were renting out a place to have the GTG but, other then that I would not go for it...

Not pickin' on ya sweetness, just putting fourth my two cents... And I do a lot to everyone! ;D

P.S. Thanks for the jab at men... :cautious: We are not all schmucks... Although I could say some bad things about women considering my girlfriend I just broke up with was dating me and another guy at the same time... :8: (Don't even go there Joe ;)) But, I will not drop to that level of blaming the entire female species for it...

Am I that predictable? ??? >:D

Here one other senario that goes with the fee idea:

If a GTG is free, everybody comes to it expecting nothing but hoping for the best...

If there is a fee involved, somewhere in the recesses of someone's mind starts the thought: "I paid good money to to come to this event and I better be entertained.." When the enevitable dissapointment sets in on that person, then starts the acusations, the finger-pointing, bad feelings...etc...

If we wanted to start a donation pot, I'm O.K. with that too...Heck, I am O.K. with paying a fee...There will be some that will not.....

FWIW....

Boo.

I HEART YOU GUYS ALL.

I had mentioned it a while ago. So as Queen Diva #1 Hostess, I would NEVER "Spring" a fee on unsuspecting attendees.

I had even mentioned "Buying" raffle tickets...but maybe I was talking to myself :)

The Name Tags, Holders and clear sleeves for the Truck IDs was roughly $300, which was donated by my company....and one day, I will tell them. LOL

I only had "locals" at my events, and I agree with you guys.

I think the direction of my message was more like, "You guys NOW wanna charge for the raffle, and I mentioned it and was shot down..."

I don't have mods because I can't afford a mortgage, a rennovation, Cosmo AV and the bills that come along with a 6'2" young man....then there's Chanel perfume, makeup, manicures, pedicures...sushi dinners...j/k

Hugs know this GREW into a Mammoth event in 6 short weeks, had we had more time, we could have made little bags for the kids...etc....

I am in talks with my Chevy dealer, pro modders, painters, body guys, a website, a magazine and still looking for more sponsors every day...I want to be in UR Club :)

Aries: I heart you..in an older sister kind of way. And know that I mean this, you will find someone that will "really love" you. Not just mess with your brain...
Boo: I heart you, you are a good man.
Joe: I ......okay.....I am scared of you....
LOL
PFF: I heart you for all the time and effort...
but my heart was crushed by a man....named Robert
and I never dated again...so I am just going to always call you PFF. if that's okay....

hey sherr, come have a drink with us friday night when rob, charlie and I get in, we'll get you up to speed on things and toss around some ideas.

no one was/is slighting your ideas at all, pls dont take it that way. And no, no one is ignoring the women ;)

There's a LOT of history around money, but for the most part folks are OK with paying a registration fee (ECRM) or buying raffle tickets (STI). At ECRM the registration covered a variety of things, including a lunch/raffle. At STI the raffle was optional, heck some folks didnt even attend it cuz they were busy doing other things.

I think you have some great ideas and seem very motivated (y) so we'll have to chat more about some of the really BIG GTGs that are in the works/planning stages this weekend to see if we can incorporate all the great ideas into the overall plan.

Well put Zuk, I'll even buy the first drink.
Sherr, you can call me PFF, but I would rather be called "the Prince", or "His Holyness", or "He who is most high", or "Spawn of Kings", or even "He who should be carried upon the shoulders of the weak and pathetic", or how about this one "Thou who walks with the lords of the universe"...or something like that. >:D ;) :p
Or, you can call me Rob

Rob
(or any of the names I listed above)
