Aura Bass Shaker Tactile Transducers

I don't know if anyone has tried this before but I was thinking about trying to see if I could use one of those Aura Bass Shakers. They are basically like a speaker but instead of moving air they attach to a hard surface like the bottom of a seat. They do not require a box to put them in and they are rather small, about 5.4" wide and 2.2" deep. I remembered looking at them when I was designing a home theater concept I had, and I thought if used in conjuction with a decent sounding door speakers or the "Clarion SRV303" that Boar-Ral had mentioned, it would appear as if you had a larger sub pushing your sound system. Here is some information I copied and pasted from a website talking about them:

They work on the concept that low bass is mostly felt rather than heard. When properly installed, Bass Shakers cause the area mounted upon to resonate and vibrate with the dramatic intensity of deep bass. This resonation is perceived as clear and deep bass without the damaging effects which often accompany big sound pressure levels. Bass Shakers generate astonishing body-thumping force without distortion, delivering a clean and clear music experience with a powerful bass foundation.

I'm not sure if they would fit under the seat, "it's minus 7 degrees outside and I'm not going to go measure." But I'm sure that there is someplace they could be mounted. The only possible problem that I forsee with this solution is that I believe that the Air Bag sensor is under the drivers seat. "I'm not sure, possibly someone could corroborate this?"

Here is a website I found that details how to put them in a "Honda?"

Here is also a link for a site that sells them. I'm sure you could find them cheaper, but this is what I found on a quick search:

The beautiful thing about these are that they only use a max of 50 watts at 4 ohms, so they could be run off of a really cheap car amplifier. They are also only $120 a pair for the "pro" models. Well, tell me what you guys think, is it do-able?

I have seen many bass shakers installed to supplement the low bass impact in car systems, but have never seen them actually replace a sub. When mounted properly, they help reproduce the impact felt by a high low-end spl system without the need to move so much air that you are vibrating the entire vehicle to pieces. They will produce nothing sonic other than resonance and vibration from their mounting surface.
