OK rain or shine.

Rain stopped about 9AM here so participants got a break setting up, ...

I may bring an umbrella,  light somewhat waterproof jacket and ball cap .
We can duck in at the Sloan Museum or Buick Gallery if it pours, usually we duck in from the heat.
Both are well worth a visit anytime,  the planetarium might be more popular than usual today too.

Sounds like a plan, being a golfer I have plenty of rain suits.

The Sloan Golden Memories car show is Sun. Sept. 20, 10-4:00 pm price: FREE!
- all authentic and original automobiles 1965 and prior. I hope it doesn't rain!

Golden Memories Car Show
Sunday, September 20, 2015
10:00-4:00pm
Free event
A very special event exclusively for original or authentically restored vehicles produced in 1965 or earlier. The Golden Memories Automobile Gathering is sponsored by Friends of Sloan*Longway, making it free to exhibitors and attendees. We welcome all authentic and original automobiles 1965 and prior. No visual modifications are allowed.
Registration takes place between 9:00 a.m. and 12 noon the day of the event. Driver and one passenger will receive free admission to the show grounds, Sloan Museum, Buick Automotive Gallery, and 10% off all Sloan Museum Store purchases.
The show is free and open to the public to walk among the vehicles. If visitors wish to also see Sloan Museum or Buick Gallery, regular museum admission is charged. (I think it's $7 now, includes both)

Byron, sorry about the washout the last auto-show was. I don't control the weather but that was the fewest number of vehicles I've ever seen at a Sloan event in 20+ years of attending.

If anyone is interested in taking a stroll among the old cars tomorrow it looks like Sunday will be HI 72 partly cloudy  here so a perfect day to take a walk. I'm still having lower back/sciatic nerve problems, walking, bending, stretching are recommended physical therapy. My doctor is going to laugh with/at me when I tell him I used an old car show as a distraction from pain while following his orders.  :p

I wish I could make it, but it's not in the cards for Sunday.

I'll charge up the camera and load them to Photobucket  (y)

The car show is almost in my front yard, across the 47 acre park and a couple blocks south.

I know where I'm buying lunch Sunday,
likely reasonably priced brats or the more costly delicious ribs if they are available.

I wish that I knew about it a few days ago, we now have plans for Sunday. The last time we planned on attending the Sloan Museum we showed up a day early, had a dinner with friends and checked into a hotel. All of a sudden I had a kidney stone attack and I was laid up in bed at that hotel for 3 days, never did get to the museum so it is on our list of places to see.

Ouch Butch! I remember hearing about it. Thankfully my lower back, left leg pain is of a sciatic nature rather than renal. My doctor concurred with my self diagnosis, he almost always does. The last time we disagreed was over whether or not my foot was broken, X-rays proved I was correct but I'd have rather been wrong as it was broken.

Butch, Sloan Museum is not going anywhere. The car show is a great time to visit since it's free and you can stroll under the trees or in the sun for free. We've got the Longway Planetarium and arts museums too in the cultural center. I think there's a Holiday Inn Express right off I-475 practically across the street. I'd invite you to stay in my guest room but I'd be ashamed to submit you to that level of accommodations, the upstairs toilet just broke again!

Butch, Crossroads Village and Huckleberry Raildroad are nearby if you're interested in history. They do Halloween and Christmas themes. We're not a par with Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. I recommend those too if you drive all the way up here as you have to pass Dearborn. If you want to idle away a winter day at the Sloan Museum and Buick Gallery let me know, I'll buy lunch and pay your old guy entrance fee!

Almost time for the 2016 North American International Auto Show.
