The International AutoSound Challange Association's Finals event is coming right around the corner.......Oct 18 and 19th in Memphis, Tenn. If any of you are interested in car audio, this is one of the best events of the year to attend. The competitors are friendly, love to talk audio, and you can learn as much as your brain is willing to absorb about car audio! The official IASCA message with details follows this post. Thanks and take car all!

September 04, 2003 - Daytona Beach, FL, This year at the IASCA World Finals to be held in Memphis, Tennessee on October 18 and 19, 2003, IASCA Worldwide Inc. will feature an unprecedented contest.

For the first time ever, the ISQC (International Sound Quality Challenge) will be held, bringing officials from IASCA?s worldwide affiliates to judge a truly international competition. Much like the ?Top 26? performed at IASCA events like Steel Valley, SSR and the Northwestern Regionals,? said IASCA?s Chris Orblom, ?this event will feature 20 cars judged exclusively for sound quality by four sets of International Judges. The scores will then be averaged to determine the winners?.

IASCA President Paul Papadeas said ?Chris? interaction with our international affiliates has been strong for quite some time now, it?s no wonder that he thought this one up. I think that it?s a great idea. We anticipate a very positive competitor response to this contest. By bringing the views and opinions of IASCA Judges from other countries, we can experience the judging style of our contemporaries abroad. Having our affiliates join us gives us the added opportunity to impart IASCA?s method and marketing plans that we?ve implemented here in North America for furthering the success of Car Audio Dealers worldwide?.

The teams of international judges participating will evaluate vehicles for Sound Quality only. Registration is open to any IASCA Competitor or Industry Member and is an Open Class (Rookie, Street and Ultimate combined). Contestants may register to enter whether qualified to compete at finals or not. Registration will commence on September 22, 2003 at 9:00AM EST. The first 20 competitors to register will receive a guaranteed entry after which, an alternate or standby list will be formed. IASCA Industry Member?s booth vehicles are also invited to compete.

At press time, Judges from Mexico, Spain, South Africa, Colombia, Panama and the UK are scheduled to participate in the judging session. A separate meeting of international judges will be held on Friday prior to the Finals Judges meeting. The winners of first, second and third place will be dubbed the 2003 IASCA International Sound Quality Champions.

For more information about the event, call Chris Orblom at the IASCA office at 386-322-1551 or e-mail at chris@iasca.com.
