I'm looking for something to AZ snowbird in for next year. This is pretty slick. I've also thought about making my own from scratch.

Any other options/suggestions?

Many older threads about the GM and aftermarket AV tent setup in the bed. They occasionally come up for sale on this site. Some also use a SnugTop shell on their AV for camping, many threads on that as well.
I have not seen any other solid bed camper for an AV due to it's odd construction compared to a standard pickup.

Thanks..and yeah I am on the hunt. I may just jump in and make my own. Keeping it lightweight would be key, IMO

I'll have to dig deeper as this Phoenix Camper from the above posted article....it looks like it fits in there pretty good.

Just also remember if you make or use a hard top you will loose acess to your side bin storage boxes unless you do a "boat hatch mod" and cut holes inside the side walls of your AV bed. Then you also have to cover the holes in the sail panels as well which you don't have to consider with a standard pickup.

I'd love to make some type of hoop erection using aluminum for the framing.
