Some time ago Bikerchic posted a photo of a dark red AV concept, probably a 2001 photo. Had the same diamond plate that bigdaddy has on his rig and what looked like 20" deep dish wheels but I wasn't sure on the wheels. Anyone know where more photos of that concept vehicle can be found?

this the pic you are looking for?

The lower link is exactly what I was looking for. Those wheels look alot like the Enkei's on EnkeiAV's rig. True?

The one thing that I notice in this picture is that the wheels are a deeper dish. The offset is differant and the wheels set out just a little further on the Avalanche! I love that look and am thinking about some wheels like THIS with some 305/75/16 rubber AFTER my stocks where out! I have the Ford keys and it sets level in the front so I hope these will fit! OR if I could sell my wheels and tires (17" Z66 -Z71 Style) for enough $$ for SPARE tires and wheels.........................

I remember when that came out at the Detroit Auto Show, I knew then I had to have one! Now I've had two, thinking about a third and helped two other people buy 'em. It's such a killer Vehicle!!! :B:

Can someone tell me the history behind those roof mounted lights on the left and right front of the roof
rack? I see them on several scale model Avs...don't
like them...but still curious about the "concept".

And does anybody recognize the tread pattern of
the tires on the concept Av and know who made/makes them...and are they "noisey" compared
to "BFG mud T/As" or "Goodyear Muds"?
TIA...

Tires were Goodyear. Unsure of the model. Vehicle design was done when they showed the "concept". They just tried to embellish the production model to make the "concept". The handles, gas cap, roof rack, lamps were just a thin layer of icing.

Your rig is primed for that diamond plate on the steps and on the rear bumper. Also for chrome handles. Would practically look zactly like the orig.concept.

Do those Phatts come in 20's?

I need a closer up of those wheels.

As far as the diamond plate, Amd1900md is making the pieces for the rear bumper, but I don't think any one has tried for the side steps. I made patterns for the side steps, and a friend who works at a race shop cut them out for me. They turned out very good.

amd has the running board plates in the works... but they are not in production yet

On those concept rims, which are really nice, were they 17s, 18s or 20s? I know that when the SSR was in concept phase it wore 20s. I heard that Chevy wanted to scale back to 17s for the production but that they were persuaded by the engineers to leave the 20s.

I would really love to pick up a set of those deep wheels on the concept. Chevy have any laying around ya think?

Bigdaddy: That diamond plate makes a huge difference. Mine is WBH with bars on the sides so there is almost nowhere to add it. Even then, it would not have the contrast of the cladding to bring it out.

Sorry, I didn't notice you had the WBH, Yea it doesn't give many places to put diamond plate. but if you can find some spots to put it, you might just find the next big mod for your WBH brothers

I'm pretty sure they were 18s.
