I had a very heated discussion with a coworker today (albeit friendly discussion) who is also a die hard GM man like myself.
He just purchased a GMC Sierra 4X4 black pick up with the mongo Duramax diesel engine for about $42,000
He said that the closest relative of the AV is actually the Silverado--I insisted that it is the Suburban. He said that if you crawled under an AV (which I have numerous times because it is cool to see what's down there) you are basically looking at a Silverado 1500.
Then how come Duramax diesels aren't offered in the AV if the 1st cousin is the Silverado? Does the AV share more with the Sub than just the frame and engine?
I say: Genealogy is this---
AV -- top of tree
WBH AV--adopted brother
Sub--1st cousin
Silverado--2nd cousin
Hummer--obnoxious flashy neighbor
Thoughts, anyone?
