Well...yesterday at about 3:30 or so we had a flash flood warning that turned into a Flash Flood. Left the office early to bring the secretary home. Streets were flooded bad. Many cars were stalled out. I got some sweet video that I'll try to transfer tonight.

I do have some wierd noise from the engine now. May or may not be related. I heared it VERY faintly about a week ago, but after wading through the water I can hear it from in the cab. I brought it in to get looked at. No decrease in performance...

From researching and asking around this is possiblities:

Knock Sensors (high on list)
Piston Slap
Bad fuel (filled up with Premium, no change as of this morning)

I however have NO codes set off...no decrease in performance. Just a ticking sound on throttle.

Back to the video -

It's pretty cool. All these people sitting on roofs and hoods. As I idled by videoing - some glared, some laughed, some waved...but they all had the look as if they were thinking..."damn, be nice to have a big truck right now"

Oh well...my engine sound may or may not be related to the water wading. I should have stayed put, but I had to pick Nikki up...lol. Hopefully damage won't be nothing serious.

Will get some video clips tonight or some snapshops atleast.

Oh yeah...got to the office this morning to find it flooded out. All the carpet was soaked. They just finished sucking up the water and are ripping out the carpet now! What a day!

Hmmm... About the ticking sound, once I had a small twig stuck in my fan on another vehicle that did exactly what you are saying... Drving through the watter could have moved the twig a little further into contact with the blades...??? Just a thought... I hope it is something simple like that...

Here's some love for luck!

Looking at you funny? You live in the south, drive a lifted truck and they were looking at you funny? WOW, must have been northerners that just moved down here! >:D

It was more of a glare...because they were stranded. I guess I could have offered a ride to higher ground.

Gave you some love MudBug. Seeing pictures of you getting your truck inspire me to do the same to mine. You rock man! Turn the music up LOUDER and hit the gas harder!

JB

Oh btw: Do you have to re-pack your wheel bearings after fording through water like that???

I live near the river about a mile past Hickory. I didn't get down Clearview. I went to the Home Depot but had to go around the back way because of traffic.

good shots but I dont KNow what you are talking about everyone knows it doesnt flood in New Orleans

LOL...your right! Who would think??

I took some video of work today will have to grab the still of that too. Our office is a mess! This is the 3rd time it flooded us out. Once, we had 18 inches of standing water. But they improved the draining system since...and this time only 2 inches. But it only rained for about 2 hours. 1 of which they claim 10 inches fell within.

Man, that's something I hadn't even thought of...LOL you confused me at first, I assumed you saw the video because I have some redneck country music blaring as I drive down the Clearview Parkway Bayou.

I figured you had redneck country music blaring! It was obvious. It's cool! I do it to! My choice. Montgomery Gentry If you ever stop loving me!

lol...what is playing in background

ending of - Going through the Big D -
Toby kieth : I love this bar
then
Tim Mcgraw : Real good man

lol...the file i have is huge, I need some good software to rip it from video. The crappy pixela software that came with Sony cam makes the file too large. 89mg large...for only 6 mins video...
