Dropped the truck off Tuesday night to get some service done, fix the steering wheel clicking problem and program the power folding mirrors I added. :)

Stopped in last night to pick her up and they said they fixed everything, but when they went to upload the program for the mirrors, the bcm stopped communicating halfway through the programming. He said the tech had spent 4 hours trying to troubleshoot it. The battery ended up going dead, so they had to charge it overnight before they could attempt to program it again. :-[

Talked to them today and things went from bad to worse. They said that there are about a half of dozen modules that the bcm communicates with. At one point the bcm stopped communicating with them all and the truck wouldn't even start up. :6:(I pictured in my head that the old AV had flatlined). They ended up switching out the bcm and they were able to get the truck started, but it still was not communicating with all the modules.

Hopefully she has a better day tomorrow. :C:

I f you don't mind saying so, what dealer? (As you see, I'm in OC also.)

UPDATE:

Still no AV :( . Talked to the them today about 5pm. They said things are looking alot better. They were able to get the BCM communicating with the modules and the truck is back to the way it was when I originally dropped it off. They are going to try to reprogram it again to get the power folding mirrors to work since that is what I originally brought it in for. This time GM Tech support want's to walk them step by step through the procedure and oversee how they are doing it. The problem is that GM Tech support is only open Mon-Fri, So they can't attempt the programming until Monday. :E: I told them to keep the truck until everything is working properly. Luckily I have an extra car.

Sperry... The truck is getting serviced at Classic Chevrolet (Where I originally bought it in Jan '03). This is the first time I have taken it in for any service (I do my own maintenance, since I don't like other people touching my vehicles). But I needed to get the mirrors programmed, so I took it in. They seem fair. I told them what I wanted done and they didn't try to sell me other services like alot of dealers try to do. I was expecting them to tell me maybe it was because of all the mods I did, that they would blame me for the problems (alot of spliced wires from me installing dvd player, vizulogic headrest, xm radio with soundgate adaptor, gps...) But they haven't said anything yet about it.

We'll, Monday's another day and hopefully everything will turn out OK.
I will keep you all updated and I thank you all for your support. (y)

It makes a HUGE difference when you've a good dealer to work with...
Hope all turns out well.

We had a 02 Tblazer that had trouble with the rear window wiper... It took them 5 days to get it working!!!!... :cautious:

Electronics are a wonderful thing to have..... WHEN they work! :p

THanks for the update!

*UPDATE*

We'll 9 days later and finally got the AV back today . Everything seems to be working, I even have power folding mirrors now (y).
On top of the service I had ask them to do, they ended up replacing the PCM, BCM 2 door modules, 2 switches and a actuator. I'm sure glad I had this done while it was still under warranty. I'm sure it was well over a thousand dollars worth of parts and who nows how many hours with GM tech service. They said they even had to get an engineer on a conference call to try to figure out what was going on. Everyday when I talked to them, they would fix one problem and then a new problem popped up. Two days ago they thought everything was OK, but they were getting a door open on the display when all the doors were closed. They replaced the door switch and then the two back windows would not work. They ended up replacing the BCM. Needless to say, they will not take on a job like this again. Sorry, but if any of you want to get your power mirrors programmed, you'll have to go to another dealer. :-[ At least they put in the little lighted mirror control switch and didn't charge me for it ;D.

We'll alls well that ends well. Now I don't have to get out of the AV to park in the garage...

Seems like the dealer messed up! I thought the Mirrors were controlled from the Driver Door Module and the Passenger door module..... Not the BCM...

Looks like they also could not reprogram the BCM module which controls items not on the front doors!
Wonder if that was part of the Motorola slip of one time flash chips..... that were sold as reflashable!!!!

The unfortunate part is that GM is going to be paying the dealer for there inability to do the job right the first time! :8: :8:
