This morning while driving our son to work, my wife was hit in the Av. ?A woman in a Toyota wasnt paying attention and ran thru the intersection and right into the side of the AV. ? :8: ?Every one is ok (just a little shook up).
The only damage on the Av was to the rear wheel. ?None of the paint or cladding was scratched!

The other car was much worse. ?The front bumper had a nice size hole and numerous scratches. ?
Im amazed that nothing else on the AV was damaged.
Now I have to get this wheel replaced.

So where did the tire get the damage from? Did your wife run over the Toyota or what? Now tell the truth it was a peddle car toyota.... Huh. I knew they made Toyotas a little light but what the heck!!! I just wait for people to not pay attention at intersections. Have you ever seen the look on someone's face when their in the wrong and they see your front grill 2' away from their face once they look to the right where they should have been looking. I scared the wee-wee out of a person once like that. I was going very slow though. Just wanted to say HI. Rambling over....

Bruno took a hit Friday night too! ?Just a little rear ender in stop and go. ?Felt like she hit me hard but look as I might the only damage I could see was my state of Texas Hitch cover had a slight curve. ?(the thing is made of 1/4 inch steel.) ?

How hard was the impact? I'd be a little concerned about an impact on the wheel of sufficient force (15+ MPH).... what could be damaged that you can't see? Maybe I'm just paranoid. ;D

I have to agree. If you were hit with any force there probably be some damage you can't see. I would have it checked out at the dealer to be safe. Once you settle, you are out of luck.

Yep, what him and UPSer said... I'd be getting the rear suspension, shocks, mountings and everthing else checked real close.

I tried to bring it in yesterday, but my dealers service dept is closed on the weekends, so I am bringing it to them first thing monday morning and have them look it over.

Yes, get it checked and also get an alignment!

The Av is built like a tank. I am glad I have all that steel around me. Sorry little cars, it's me or you. I just feal safer. I would get that checked out, everyone is correct, you could have hidden damage that you cannot see. Glad everyone is ok.

I hardly know anything about vehicles, but I would imagine the rear differential should be checked. Don't they check that by metal filings in the gear oil? If so - you might need to run it some more and then check (or recheck). Brakes too.

Good news, I finally had the dealer check over the rear end of the truck and the only damage was to the rim. :) I ordered a new rim and should have it tomorrow. Total cost : $702  Thank god its not coming out of my pocket!

I would've asked for a check from the ins. company for 702 and just bought a set of take-off rims/tires for 500 and pocketed the rest. ?I mean, you get 200 bucks plus three more rims/tires for your avy.
