Avalanche Camper Shell??

Being new to this site, I was wondering if anyone makes a camper shell to fit the 2003 model Avalanche that I have? When we go out meteorite hunting, we take along a tent to camp in overnight. Many times we just need someplace to laydown without needing all the camping gear. We have the optional truck bed tent from GM, but it is a hassle to put up and take down. For us a camper shell that easily removes/installs would make a lot more sense.
So, what say ye?

Yes, it is a SnugTop, there is one for sale here:

Or you can do like I did and make you own.

What is the biggest meteorite you have found so far, I'm sure you have seen the TV show and the motorcycle they had built at Orange County Chopper's

You can make a screen to replace rear glass, sleep on a thin pad with feet under the bed covers. Someone said they'd lay the glass on the bed covers you could just sit up and put it in quick in event of a sudden downpour.

I do what Flint suggested all the time (minus the screen).  I actually originally bought the Avy with that in mind...  I use a thick camp pad and sleep with the pillow in the cab, my gear arranged in a manner to give me ample space.  It actually works very well, If I want venting I just pop the glass and let it rest on the catch - if it gets cold I can snap it back in.

As others have mentioned snugtop makes an actual topper, but the look is a little odd for my taste and it makes your side-saddle boxes un-usable.

Is this camper shell still for sale and if so who do I need to contact
10 years ago?
PLus the link is dead.

My guess is it is long gone. as some of the peeps in this thread...

RIP FLINT!

You will need to keep eye on EBAY, CRAIGS LIST and junk yards to find a used one...

Man, that home made one in the 3rd post is slick. Would love to have seen this while he was an active member and picked his brain.

He has a youtube video of that custom top too, check it out. It is slick! He also added 3rd row seating, almost turned it back into a Suburban lol.

The one top is sold, who else has one for sale
That does tend to happen when the post is 10 years old. lol.

There were a couple that people were thinking about selling in the for sale section, i'd post there if you'd like one. They're getting rather hard to come by.

I just bought one on FB market place. There are 2 more on there now, one in Idaho and the other near Tacoma, Washington. The second one, is in almost new condition with a Bedrug interior for the bed. Great deal at $1500.

I am very very interested in following up on your information regarding two camper shell that might be available in Idaho and Tacoma. Nor sure it is allowed BUT can you email me with details at JAMCOOPER@aol.com PLEASE, PRETTY PLEASE... thank you very much

Also since Snugtops are getting harder to find you might want to consider the soft tents made by GM in the past or some aftermarket companies as well, many older threads on them in this site.
