Avalanche Cladding Prototype Pix

The grey SUV is a Saturn VUE. GM parks stuff randomly at times, and as such, there were three prototype Av's, and a grey, run-of-the-mill VUE right in the middle of them. Oh well.

People paint their cladding like that all the time.......

Go check out the MOD section and search for painted cladding....heck a company will sell you replacement cladding painted like shown in pic if you give them you old on exzchange and a bunch of $$$$$

Try a search.....

Agreed, that pattern is nothing new. But what would be new is being able to order that paint style from the factory!

Perhaps these photos are evidence that GM corporate is watching what we owners are doing to our trucks? ???

Ok. So he may not yet be a GM Exec, but if he can get painted cladding AV's to be produced he can have my vote!
We're all fans though!
;)

Even though I  my AV, I really like the red and white AV prototypes. ;D Is GM thinking of building that in 04' or was it just a concept. Because I would definitely buy one just for the new look. (y)

You'd come out better getting it professionally painted yourself. (Probably)

What scream out at first glance, is that he is AOL based. ?That speaks volumes.... ?

You know what guys? ?And I didn't think I'd send this.

I just thought perhaps you would like to see what I found. ?

And it turns out perhaps you dont. ?

But instead of ignoring it, you're lambasting me for my (outdated and non-used) webpage, my age, who I am, the fact that I'm stuck using AOL. ?For that matter, if you can refer me to a free image hosting site to use to post, I'd gladly use that instead.

While it's almost exactly like that link that you posted, I'm sorry if I'm the only one out of "millions" of postees that never saw it. I wasn't aware that was a sin to not know of that. I figured that these were inhouse GM conversions, with M-Plates, that perhaps you'd want to see them. I'm sorry to have wasted your precious time. Go click somewhere else instead then....stop assulting my name.

This is ridiculous. ?Your comments are the same type of immature garbage I have had thrown at me for about 9 years straight at school. ?And you're all older than I am.

Forget it. ?I thought as Avalanche fans we could all get along in the forum, but seeing as you're dragging my identity through the mud, I guess not.

Perhaps you think I'm blowing it out of proportion here. ?But after seeing so many forum cases of people attacking others online, this is certainly the last place I'd ever think to have seen it. No one on the GM-Trucks.com forum has ever responded this way, but if this is how you treat newbies, especially younger ones such as myself, who think perhaps you'd like to see something different, than perhaps I was damn wrong. ?I'll stick with that forum.

How very true. I had the exact same thoughts reading some of the comments. Well, all the same thoughts except for the "older than I am" part. ;)

I think there are a few people here who should be feeling embarrassed right about now. :-[

I was surprised by some of the comments, as those making them don't usually respond that way. :6:

I'll stick with that forum.
You are centainly free to visit any and all other forums. However, I hope you will reconsider things and stick around here. A few cynical comments do not mean that everybody feels that way. Please don't paint all members with the same brush.

Hey Dude thanks for the info! I also agree you don't deserve to be beaten up for posting some pics. Don't let the ranting of a few sour your experience on this site. There seems to be some people who are way too quick to start trouble....But most are aprecciative of ifo such as this. I also use a free hosting service for my web pics and Pages Canadain Avalache Club ... Hey if it's free!!! which it's not!!!! it comes as part of my $50.00 a month internet package and serves my needs fine why would i go buy web space????????
Don't let the rantings of a few turn you off! this is a good site with many great people and great info. Keep up the good work (y)

Hey, I love seeing pictures like that
Makes me feel like I have a brain after all. That pattern is exactly like mine. I'm not saying I was first, but I don't know of anyone who did it first. Maybe they were peaking at all of the paint jobs people were showing off. The only other thing I did was paint the outside of the sails and tool boxes as well.

It was not cheap, but unlike some other mods I've done I don't regret it for a minute.
GMMedium, don't let one situation keep you away from the site.

Just took another look at your picture, you know what...I lied.

I painted the area around the fogs, and I did not paint the little bit just in front of the back bumper as i felt it would get sandblasted real quick

Hey GMMediumDutyMQ: Like SS says, don't paint all members with the same brush. I, and many like me on this forum, really appreciate your post. Please reconsider, stick around a little, and find out what's great about this forum and it's members. If not, thanks for stopping by 'cause your input was appreciated! ;D

Hi all,

Thanks. I appreciate your support. I don't intend to paint you all with the same brush, in fact, most of you have shown that you're cut from a much better piece of cloth than some. I hope I didn't offend you by seeming I was stereotypizing all of you.

By the way, I realize I won't need AOL to make my images show up on this site, so don't worry about that crap anymore.

I surely intend to stay around here.

Thank you all.

Its great that you decided to stick around MQ! (y)
I do believe that it was in very poor taste that certain members would isolate you and critcize you and your pic. I really enjoyed it, and it has made me think of possibly painting my cladding just like sparky. ;D
I know that you will find out rather quickly that a lot of the members here are really pleasant, and anything that you want to know about mods and taking care of your AV, this is the place to find it out.

-James R.

OK,
Who will be the first to go back to the original cladding look when they do this? :) Will the new cladding be made out of the colored plastic or just painted on the outside.
At first I was kind of skeptical about the cladding. But, it grows on you. A friend of mine at work bought one and the more I looked closer at it , the better I liked it. My wife saw one of the new WBH optioned ones and got me stoked about buying her a truck like that. By the time it was all over she decided that she liked the cladding ;D.
God has been so good to me. :)
