I'm starting this topic early to determine if there is interest in doing something extra or special this year.
This year will be the 20th anniversary of our first ever Avalanche Pizza GTG.
Should we plan more than just pizza? Maybe make it a weekend event?

Thoughts, opinions, suggestions. Please.

********************************************

It is time again to plan to attend our annual Avalanche Pizza GTG.

We are all set for October 1 2022.

Pastor Jim has retired.
But I have spoken with Pastor Joe and we are all set to once again use the church parking lot and restrooms.
We are set to use the First Baptist H2O Church parking lot from 10:00 until 4:00.
The church will be open for us to use the restrooms.

Church has changed it's name.

Meet at the H2O Church in Athens at your leisure.
The H2O Church is located across the street from Avalanche Pizza.
336 East State Street
Athens, OH 45701

Please place your pizza order as early as possible once you arrive.
Or maybe call ahead while driving in?
Check out their menu in the link. Click ORDER to see menu.
Call 740-594-4664 to order, or order on-line.

329 East State Street
Athens, Ohio 45701

Weather forecast:

Dress for the weather as we will be outside tailgating at the church.
There is room for canopies, if needed.
You may want to bring drinks (no alcohol please) napkins, plates, chairs.

At this point, the date is tentative.

We have a 2010 avalanche. What is this GTG you speak of? We are located in Georgetown Ky.

Beginning in 2002, we have got together almost every October for Avalanche Pizza in Athens Ohio.
This link will give you most of the history.

This year, being the 20th anniversary, I am asking if we should do a little more than just tailgating and eating great pizza.
Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Whether this year would be your first year or your 21st year, all are welcome.

I'm going to try and make this, this year. I may even bring a Bowtie for once

Not certain where I will be living however, I will try to go. Seems like a good time and the right thing to do now that I'm an Av owner.

:welcome: 2003VAAV
At most of the get togethers I had been to with my friends from WV, our motto seemed to be "Talkin' Trucks and Fillin' Guts."
That is exactly what we do at this GTG.

We plan to be there.

I plan to be there !!
:woot:
Close by in the mitten, (15 miles +or- north of the buckeye near I-75)
If Oct 1st is the "new" date I will not be able to make it.
I am still waiting for confirmation from the new Pastor that we may use the church parking lot and rest rooms on October 1.
Pastor Jim has retired.

I'm 50/50. I have a new role at work that means I will have to work on the 1st. It just depends if I can wrap up in time to make the drive.

I'm still hoping to make it this year, but its up in the air right now

At this point I'm going to be a Maybe. Got some pain in my knee, getting an MRI next week.

You all have a great time. We won't be able to make this GTG as Joan's health continues to decline.

Well dammit. Was looking forward to it but I have to work that day. Topic of discussion came up as we're sitting in a bar with BBB and both wives at the moment. He was saying the company He works for has their quarterly meeting the second weekend of October is why they haven't been coming.

Sorry to hear that Butch. Prayers and well wishes coming your way.

That means BBB can come this year. And last year. And the year before that.
