Avalanche Road Test/Review On Edmunds

Well, I have to agree with them on this....the speaker system on the Av does leave a little to be desired....they should have offered an upgrade with the Av...

I don't mind the delco head unit, or the single cd player....Bose are in order here if not standard then option it.

i really dont think its that bad of a speaker system. i think its pretty nice actually but it could be better, but then again i have the cd player option so isn't it supposed to better than the standard speakers?

I completely agree, I know there is another forum for this but on Friday, I seriously upgrade the sound system. I also found the part for keeping my OnStar happy, SoundGate II module.

To be honest I don't think the CD player has any thing to do with the speaker selection in this case...I believe regardless of the head unit, we all share the same speakers...

Anybody care to add to this?

the Stock speakers are weak and do not have a good range. The magnet is puny and they distort very easily. They do not have a good dynamic range and they sound well like crap as compared to well the ones I replaced them with.

The head unit is fine a little under powered maybe but it does very well with the new speakers I have.

Is it me or does the Edmund forum on AVYs starting to well STINK?

The stock head unit only drives 13 watts x 4, that for me is not an option. I am not going to trick mine out like a guy at the same stereo shop who just spent 35k yes that is right 35k on a sound/navigation/DVD system for his Av. He took up nearly the whole bed for the amps, and cross overs, and whatever he has in there. I got to look at it and I just laughed, it is totally sad when someone spends money so foolishly.

I am upgrading to a Pioneer, with Diamond Speakers, nice crisp sound. Better yet, all you folks rushing to get the Radio controls for your steering wheel, well I will have a steering wheel remote with the new stereo.
