Bad AV, Very Bad AV

Sidebar on pets:
I bought this new house and it has a pond in the front with some KOI or some KOI looking fish...well everyday it would be almost empty...fill it up at next afternoon empty again...So drain it tape up some lines that we think are holes and refill....Darn if it is not empty the next eveing again....

Well one day when I am home for the week my dogs go nuts....so I look out the front door to see some ugly Mutt taking a bath in my pond.....I yell and he runs knocking the fountain over and spitting water out of the pond....Mystery solved but man I hate that dog now!

Back to topic:
The cat's death how ever tragic is the cat owner's fault as SPORK said the owners are responsible....

Anyone have a dog-be-gone?

That reminds me of a time when I was in the army. Went out to start up a duece one morning and MEEEOOOOOOOWWWWWWW!!!! cat guts everywhere inside the engine compartment. What a mess. :9: :D:

Do you think I can send my two cats to your house for the weekend? Or would you like to come here for dinner, and drive the av? JK, I have many pets, but the only one I would replace is our little maltese dog.

I think AJ found a catfish sleeping in his engine compartment!

I have had cats, dogs or both most of my life. I have never bought one though. They have all been strays or cast-offs. My cat died last summer. She wasn't even weaned yet when I intercepted her before some @sshole could get her into a burlap bag and toss her into a river. I had her over 21 years. I still have a dog that I found abandoned in the mountains in '91. I guess I'm just a soft touch.

I would love to see a lease law for cats in my community. There is one for dogs. There is nothing worse than digging in your garden on to find a cat has used it as a rest room. Not just once but on a regular basis. Cat crap stinks! Why can't that cat climb into my AV. I also love the muddy prints the SOB leaves on my freshly wash vehicles.

Yeah, my wife gives me that one too when I complain(they're really her dogs, incidentally). ?My reply is always the same...the baby has potential, dogs don't.

Well, being childless by choice and prefer dogs I have a favorite saying.

"It's socially acceptable to give you dogs away but not your children."

Steelhead, Awesome photo. You should have retouched out the recovery strap though. ?Not too late !!!

I would have but it isn't my picture (that and I don't have photoshop or the knowledge to use it). If you don't know the story, or haven't seen all the photos, you really need to check this out!

I hope these guys drive the other brand vehicle when they aren't in the air...

I missed that story... Just read it and watched the video. Famous last words: (Take it slow and watch the approach)

Good Idea..............Strap b-gone :-*

Hey how about showing mud and water being thrown from all four corners and we could all pretend that the Av was never stuck? ;D

We have major problems with cats in our neighborhood. They like to mark our house, cars, ect. We bought our AV on Saturday afternoon took it home that night, woke up Sun morning and noticed that a cat marked our new AV. On top of that it had tried to jump on the hood and missed and of course put some "nice" scratches down the drivers side front fender. :7: We didn't even have the AV 24 hours yet. Luckly we told the dealership about it and they washed and buffed it out for us and now they are all gone ;D

I'd be real grumpy if a cat scratched my Av. . .

The most obnixious cat running loose in our neighborhood recently bit the dust . . I can't say that I'm sorry at its passing.

If you have a serious cat problem - call animal control. In our town (Greeley, CO), and maybe yours too, animal control will loan you a live trap (bait it with some tuna) and then come to collect the cat when trapped. Many cat owners who let cats run loose won't bother to go get them at the pound . . so . . problem solved!

Once again . . responsible pet owner = indoor cats or fenced in dogs.

Wayne (owner of 2 indoor cats)

We actually went out and bought a "cat trap" because we were so tired of them marking the house and the cars (mainly the corvette). So now we are slowly but surely getting the problem taken care of. We called animal control and they wouldn't do anything about it. I love animals but this was just ridiculous!!! Thanks for the help though!

The day after reading this thread I was talking to my brother on the phone. Seems that he had noticed a furry little tail dangling from under the engine compartment of his jeep. He is now the owner of a little calico kitten.

The seasons and temp don't seem to have much to do with them crawling up under the hood. Back in the days of my youth in Minnesota, there were a couple years were we had strays climbing up under. There wasn't a season or weather condition that made them do it more than any other, either.

Love that pond adventure. When is the next one?

Now, I really pity that cat. 'shredded' due to its irresponsible owner...

everybody, before he finds out, keep this thread AWAY from G-xx! He'd kill you, bfron!!! :3: >:D J/K

This "almost" happened to my family's cat when I was a kid. We were on vacation, and left the cat with the next door neighbor for care. We came home, and while we were upacking the car, the cat came up to us to greet us. We were surprised, however, to note that a patch of fur was missing from the side of his neck, and the tip of his ear was missing. In fact, there was some crusty blood on the cut edge of his ear. What happened?

A few minutes later the neighbor had come over, and was happy to see the cat alive. He told us the story about how that morning he went to start his car. He turned the key, and heard a loud thump. Opening the hood to see what was wrong, he noticed that not only was the fan belt off the pulleys, but there was fur all over the engine. But there was no cat to be found at the time.

For the longest time, the cat never did go back over to that house...

Now, I now the current mood is that it's irresponsible to have an outdoor cat, but this was over 30 years go, and times were different then.

Not trying to ruffle any fur here, but in my part of the US cats have to work for a living keeping the mice population down. If cats are kept indoors that means they are on welfare. Just my 2 cents
