Well just looking around today and I noticed this article:

http://cars.surfwax.com/files/Chevrolet_Avalanche.html

(link on that page didn't work for me)

We should post pics of Bad AVer on a "CAFCNA Wall of Shame"

Good find! That site is full of Avalanche stories, good and unfortunate.
`Wished it was all good...

I read the article on the tailgate problems. I didn't know they made Avalanches in 1999.

W :eek:W...great articles of both good and bad things StrobinAvalanche...I didn't know we were in the news that much!

Of course if you read the second link down, it stated how the "Big 3" domestic manufacturers are actually beating out their foreign counterparts.

I can definitely say VW sucks with respect to reliability. I've owned two VW beetles both of with are in the shop regularly.

Here is a copy/paste of one of the news articles. Hey I want a BROWN Avalanche too! Didn't know they came in that color.

.............A brown Chevrolet Avalanche parked in front of the house was melted and burned from the blaze. A person driving by the house saw the fire and called 911, Collins said (Daily Citizen-News, GA)

Awarded a bid for $21,400 to Keyes Chevrolet replace the fire chief's vehicle with a 2004 Chevy Avalanche 1500;

Must have been one heck of a trade in!!! I wanna shop there next time!

He drives a newer model four-wheel drive vehicle, possibly a Chevrolet Avalanche, that is metallic blue with black rollbars behind the cab.

POSSIBLY a Chevrolet Avalanche? If it had been an Av they would KNOW it was an Av! >:D

Linsey's 1996 GMC Sierra then went into a spin, striking a 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche driven by Tamela L. Allen of Athens. Neither Allen nor her 1-year-old son in the vehicle were injured

Gotta love the Av!!

And that's why companies offer weird cars and trucks like the Avalanche, even if it shares at least 90 percent of its parts with Chevrolet's pickup offerings.

Weird?? We arent' weird, are we Yak? >:D (y)

To many car and truck buyers, the Avalanche, the Chrysler PT Cruiser and the Honda Element are just plain ugly. But for a select few, they're great vehicles that fill a need or fit their sense of style.

we aren't ugly either... the Element is tho! >:D >:D :p

The impact crushed the right front fender of the white Chevrolet Avalanche, severely damaged the right wheel, ruptured the radiator and caused the airbag to deploy. But the man continued to drive the heavily damaged pickup, leaving behind a trail of radiator fluid (News Journal, TX)

Takes a licking but keeps on ticking! >:D

Did you guys also notice the USA Today article about Consumer Reports rating 34 4x4 vehicles as to their off-road capabilities?

The Avy came out number two! ;D

I read this article also, and what's this??? The Av rates EIGHT spots higher than any jeep!!!!! If the jeep is "trail rated" than what rating is an Av????? ROFLMAO ;D
