Bad Blower Motor

I have a 06 Avalanche and the blower quit working. I noticed the mcase fuse ( I think that’s what it is called) is a 40amp and it had blown. I replaced it and as soon as I put it in the fuse started burning. I quickly removed it before it burned or blew and started researching. I pulled the blower motor and blower motor resistor. The resistor looked like a aftermarket model I had seen online. I took the blower motor over to my battery and hooked it up expecting it to turn on high. It did not and the battery terminals and wire were smoking. So obviously bad blower. I have been looking at different ones and can someone explain why it matters for the blower if I have manual controls or automatic, and why it matters if I have a rear center console with vents. I have the dual climate auto controls with rear vents and some places that blower is a lot more expensive. Then the manual with no rear console. Does that really matter on the blower or would that be more the resistor. Just very curious there are 4 different options to choose from.
Thanks for the information.
For some reason since I put the blower directly to the battery, it no longer holds charge and is dead since that. Weird?

Run your VIN over to a dealer's parts counter.

With that, they should be able to get the correct part number for you.

If you do not want to buy it from the dealer, just grab that part number and head online to shop.
