Took my AV in to dealer today with a problem in the steering (see other thread). I pointed out to them that the paint was peeling off both of the wiper arms. This was really not a big deal and I expected them to blow me off, but they replaced them both under warranty. I haven't seen where anybody else has mentioned this, but you may want to check yours out.

Mine are doing the same thing, have for awhile. Didn't notice it until I was out of warranty of course.

Hasn't bothered me too much yet, I'm sure I'll replace both at some point.

Mine are fine.....

Have you ever applied anything to them like wax or 303 ?

they are easy to take off. Just take them off and shoot them with some glossy back rustoleum paint. When you put them back on just make sure you get the wiper blades lined up with the little marks on the windsheild.

this is a good idea (y). I think that most wipers are painted FLAT though so as to not cause glare or something? This is really personal preference, but for whatever reason all the ones I've seen are this way.

I have been concidering replaceing mine for a while now. I also have a "01 Tahoe, and the wiper arms stay up when lifted. This makes it easier to clean the windshield. I am not sure but I think they are the same size. Maybe this is something others should concider if you are wanting to replace the arms.

They would hit the hood.......be careful.....

This has happened on every Chevy car or truck I have ever owned. I just expect it and have them replaced right before the warranty expires. I have been doing this for years. They never argue, because they know this is the most common problem on a Chevy.

My 96 Impala SS had this happen. I replaced them with aftermarket Motormite units and they did not just fade, they rusted in less than a year :8:. Then I just got some correct color trim paint from Eastwood.com and sanded and repainted the originals.
