After alot of planning, I think ready to make some big changes to the Avy. The look I'm going for is not too dramatic, but definitely a head turner. I want my truck to look like it came with a Bass Pro Shops Package straight from the dealership, ya know? I just wanted to get some opinions from my fellow Avaholics on what yall thought would come with it.

What I Have
Chrome Mirrors, Handles, and Pedals
K&N Air Filter
Jensen CD/DVD/MP3 head unit with 7 inch screen
SS Gauges
LED Tailights
Mounted Garmin Nav

Some things I know I want
BPS decals, patches, and emblems
Smooth cladding
Leveling kit (no lift)
33"tires/20"rims
Fishing Pole Rack
Truck Bed Tent

I want this truck to be the ultimate towing/fishing/camping Avy. So what do yall think? What am I missing?

I like it, however...... would you be infringing on their copyright of the logo by changing it?

hmmm idk about that. something to look into though. I have seen before where people have created their own Z66, Z71, etc. decals. As far as adding the word "edition" to the BPS logo, I see it as advertising! In fact, they should probably pay me for space on my truck >:D

I'll give you a hint. Untill I get down there and have Jeff Arnett make it official. My AV is a "Jack Daniels" Tribute AV as apposed to "Jack Daniels" Edition so I don't have to worry about jumping on the Infringment bandwagon. One good way is to call the direct corporate office and speak to BPS official and they should be able to help. (y) This might help.#7

We had a Virginia member a few years ago that used vinyl wrap in camo to cover his cladding and also had matching camo seat covers and dash panels. It looked pretty nice too.
I think if i wanted an outdoorsman type AV I would do that along with black Teflon rims (not chrome ones) and maybe consider a more rugged bumper system front and rear with a winch. Bumpers like ones from Road Armour or Stealth Off-Road if they are still in business. I think there is another company called something like Runnel too.
Don't know if i would go with lots of chrome trim on a rugged off-road version of an AV. maybe get tube steps and trim black powder coated to match rugged bumpers?
But all this is just my .02 and you should do what makes you happy.
Good luck with your mods.

Thanks Didit & #7. Emailed BPS last night. Response:

Thank you for contacting basspro.com. We appreciate your business. Unfortunately we can not grant permission to individuals to use our Bass Pro Shops logo. However we do sell decals online you may purchase. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

The decals are about $5 so no big deal. I was planning on getting some anyway, just need two more then.
Vaeagleav thanks for the input and I do remember the Avy youre talking about (couldnt find it on here or google images though). But as of right now I was planning on avoiding camo. I have chrome tube steps already, forgot to mention that, and no I dont plan on adding anymore chrome. I do like the idea of a winch! Do you recommend any brands?

Several Avalanches on this site, they have winch front bumpers and ones for the rear too :

I bet the bumper companies know which winches fit their bumpers best, I would ask them. Maybe they could give a discount for purchasing winch with the bumper?

Wow new bumpers are definitely out of my budget for right now. (New rims and tires are coming this week). I do have a newb question which Im sure will result in a little embarassment, but is there anyway to mount a winch to a stock bumper?

Had 20" Moto Metal 951's and 305/55/20 Nitto Terra Grapplers with a ReadlyLift 1.5" leveling kit put on this week. Installed a Banks Ram Air Intake today. Very noticeable power gains and THE SOUND IS AMAZING . Pics tomorrow!

I like the ideas! I went with a Harley Davidson "tribute" I have a unsafe obsession with Harley hence my broken foot!

Good luck and keep the pics coming!

Its a start. The Banks sounds awesome. Feels like pretty strong power gains. Tires are 33" so with the leveling kit they still trimmed a small bit off the front bumper. IMO they look great!

Good idea  (y) a couple of years ago I made my own Texas Edition Avalanche. I had custom Z66 decals made, added front and rear Ranch Hand bumpers, level kit, SS Cluster, Denali Bezel, and a few other things. It must look authentic because Ive had many people tell me that they didn't know GM made a TX Edition Avy

Thanks TXSZ66! Its actually funny that you say that. I was in Houston two weeks ago and I saw a new body Silverado pulling into a parking garage. It had big tires and chrome rims but it wasnt lifted. It was white with chrome everywhere. And on the back was a chrome "TEXAS EDITION" emblem!

Bummer on the Logo idea, you were like hey it's advertisement and they were like  :beating: NO! If the BPS decals look good enough you could layer the BPS color combo z71/z66 vinyl over or under it to make it look as if they went together.  (y)

This is making me think of my own "edition" Avalanche. I'm trying to think of things I dig and then what to model the truck after... oh, the ideas are gonna come I just know it.
