Battery drain with radio on ?

I've got a 2007 av, and the ONLY thing I don't like about it is the battery drain when the radion is playing/engine off.

With key in "on" position, and radio playing, I get maybe 4 hours of time before the battery is dead. I mean dead as is radio/door chime etc don't even make a sound. Radio clock, is back to 12:00, etc etc so it's totally dead.

In all my other cars I've been able to play radio all day without this drain.

Is this "normal"?  I know the obvious answer is "don't to that", but it does not seem right to me...

Also with a quick jump start, things are back to normal. Don't have to wait more than 10 seconds with jumper cables and she fires right back up.

Thanks guys/Kevin

Only thing I've come across as far as battery drain is this:

Several owners (including me) have had problems with the battery going dead for no reason. I did the dual battery mod so it wouldn't happen to me again. That would be one option for you. It's well worth it IMO. If anyone else has experienced the issue you're talking about, maybe they'll post up.

Have to remember the subwoofer etc on this AVs draws a little more juice..  DId your other cars etc have those as well.. 4 hours is pretty good in my humble opinion..

Along the same line as what Hugz is thinking....Maybe a better question is what do you have in your AV that you didn't have in your other vehicles that's causing your battery to drain faster?

why is your keys on the "on" position? don you have the option of turning the key backwards just for the radio on? anyways, what i do is i put the key on "on" then when the radio starts, i take out the keys and let it play without opening the doors then after 20 or so minutes, the av will turn itself off so i dont drain the battery.

The same thing happened to me on my AV when I was at the beach camping. A guy next to me told me that THE BOSE draw more power than your standard systems. So I hope this helps. I came back later after letting my AV sit and it started up. But it was dead after playing for a few hours also.

the reserve time is going to get shorter if you keep draining it, better look into a dual set up or start it once in awhile while your playing the radio

I'm taking the lazy route here .... is there a thread about installing the dual batteries in an '07?

I had the key on accessory position. I let it run all the way down playing CD's. I want to do the dual battery thing when i am in town more often to enjoy my AV.
