See The Battleship Texas berthed on the bustling Houston Ship Channel at the Park's western border. A veteran of both World Wars, she was once the most powerful and respected warship afloat.
She saw action at the Allied invasion of North Africa, the famous D-Day invasion of France and was a key participant in the Pacific at Iwo Jima and Okinawa. A pioneer in technological advances for its time, the Navy presented her to the people of Texas in 1948 as a Museum.
