Some states have made locking rims illegal for street use. ?Tireloc has a great alternative.

N44-tireloc.jpg

The Tireloc device consists of a kevlar bag (red/ pink) containing of an inner tube, that's inflated through a second valve. The pressure in the tube forces the bag against the tire bead, thereby locking it to the wheel rim. The tire itself is inflated through a slightly modified valve in the normal position.

There is no effect on the road at normal tire pressures, but off-road at low speeds the tire can be run at just a few psi without it coming off the rim.

It is even possible to run a tire (for a few yards only) at zero pressure, ?to get out of deep sand. (Tires should still not be run at low pressure for long distances or heat will build up and cause damage.) Apart from the extra hole in your rim, the hole in your pocket is about $500 to $800 per set of four.

They are imported from Sweden by a single USA distibutor so far:

do a keyword search for "internal tireloc" on thier site for more info

Look's like it isn't being imported in 17". ?

Pdx,
I guess you mean beadlocks? How in the world will law enforcement enforce this one?
Good knowing the government is looking out for us.
