Got bed bugs?

teaser.jpg

I wonder if they will work on the AV?

For those most part, they probably are. I haven't had much that moved around in the back (no matter how hard I took the corners).

The things that do move are usually round or cylindrical. I don't think that a web would work. What I want is something to hold pipes against one side or the other. I suppose a web would work if I rigged it so that it went under the pipes and wqrapped back over to the same side?!?

I have contacted the company that manufacturers the Bed Bug, requesting information on a possible Avalanche version.

I will keep you informed.

i think the mat will hold most flat things from sliding. as for round objects...? i will be getting a Line-X sprayed in this week anyway. tired of the water underneath the mat.
i think the bed bugs will not work as well if you do not have a bedliner with the grooved space the bed bugs need to be placed in. it will if the AV's grooves are the same size and distance away from each other. :B:

(See DougD - I searched!  And found this old thread!)

So anyways, those of you in the PNW know of Joe's (formerly G.I. Joe's).  It has announced it's going out of business after 30+ years and started liquidating on Friday.  For those of you who don't know - think Cabela's with the addition of Auto Parts.  Seriously - outdoor camping/hunting/fishing, camoflauge clothes, sporting goods, and auto parts.  They happen to sell camp food and energy drinks too, so I could live there without ever having to leave the building!

Anyways, so I'm there just walking thru the aisles to see what they've got.  And I come across these Bed Bugs.  I've got the carpet covered "SteelSlide" from our member here (I love it!).  But I've got a new "JoBox" with a bunch of stuff in it.

BullBar024Small.jpg

The problem is, the JoBox keeps sliding around on the carpet.  So I thought this might be a good solution.  I don't have my reading glasses with me to read what it says, but hey, what-the-heck, they may not be here next time I come.  I can read the bigger writing:
• Patented design wedges into bed liner to prevent sliding cargo.
 • Holds square, cylindrical, and irregular shapped cargo.
 • Anchors load at floor, bed level to stop sliding at its source.
 • Bed Bugs are compatible with most major bed liner brands.
There's a whole lot more writing, some of which I can tell is at least 2 different languages (spanish and french).

So I get home and tear open the pkg.  First off, there's only 2 Bed Bugs in there.  No where on the pkg does it say "Contents: 2".  In fact, the picture on the front showing it holding a tool box actually shows 3 Bed Bugs.  So how am I gonna hold 4 corners of my JoBox with only 2 Bed Bugs?  They are designed so that the cargo actually sits on top of them.  If I put only 2 under the corners, the other 2 corners are gonna be lop sided.

This is where I go put on my glasses:
• Operating Instructions: Place Bed Bugs securely into bed liner grooves.
 • Adjust placement of  . . . (etc., etc., etc.,)
 • Compatible with pendaliner, duraliner, . . . .all star and factory liners from GMC,  Ford, Dodge, Chevrolet (except avalanche), Toyota, Nissan . . .
Hold it!   What was that I just read?
(except avalanche)
Are you F'n kidding me?  Seriously, even the word "Avalanche" wasn't capitalized.

So with Joe's going out of business, all sales are final, no returns, etc.  So I'm stuck with 'em.  I'll try them out on the carpet to see if the rubberized feet actually hold.  I may see if I can get at least 2 more.  If all else fails, I'll cut off all the rubber feet and put velcro on the bottom.

Jeez!  :E:
