Bed cover not watertight

One of the reasons I bought my Avalanche was for a watertight bed with the cover panels in place. We've had a lot of rain here and I checked the bed and it's very wet in there, particularly directly below where the #1 and #2 panels come together. Isn't the bed cover supposed to keep water out? What might others have done to reduce the amount of water to get into the bed?

I changed my search terms and found plenty of information. I tried to remove this post but cannot. Mods, feel free to delete. Thanks.

The bed is supposed to be water resistant, not water tight.

There is a pretty good water management system built into the bed, but they are very seldom water tight.

Members have reported on their efforts to improve upon the water management system many times in this forum.

Some with more success than others.

As the components of the water management systems begin to get old and worn out, I suspect some of us will see more issues with water intrusion.

I personally try to not travel with stuff in the bed that absolutely can not get a little wet.
