Best Sub Location

So far, I haven't seen anybody mention this. A friend of mine who does quality stereo installations suggested this for my truck. He said it would be fairly simple to make sub boxes out of the back seats. He would remove them and use the existing seat frames to make a boxes. Up to two 10" in the large seat would face down, one 10" in the single seat. Afterwards, the new sub box would be reapolstered with original seat cushions. He said no one would ever be able to tell they're in the seats. No change in comfort or in functionality. I'm planning on having this done in about 6 months. Right now, I'm going with a custom downfire box. I'll repost when I have this done.

They have been numerous post on the ideal/best subwoofer location. If your friends plan works that would be great but that is yet to be seen. I'll keep my eyes open for an update.

Good Luck.

Does he have any idea of the price it would cost to be done and is he certain it could be done..I might send my seats out there if he is sure

He looked at my truck and estimated: $200-150 to build the box, $200-150 to reapolster the seat, and no estimate on labor. Probably around $500-600. This guy is good but this isn't a break through idea. In other words, you might want to suggest the idea to your local professionals and see what their reaction is. He made it sound like a pretty simple job. Of course, he makes everything sound that way. If anybody knows a trusted professional with alot of experience, I would be curious to hear any criticisms of this idea.
